About this file

This document provides an ACM and LBP summary and details for the Milwaukee Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse Fire & Life Safety Upgrades Project. Testing found asbestos-containing materials in the east and west utility/electrical/telecom closets at flooring and mastic. Drywall systems in Room 119 and a fifth floor room tested at or below the 1% asbestos threshold but OSHA worker protection rules will still apply. Lead-based paint was found throughout the north side of the building, particularly in cream and white paints, and the red and gold paint in the Atrium area also tested positive. Lead-based paint is present but to a lesser extent on the south side of the building. Safe work practices to control dust will be required along with OSHA worker protections given the asbestos-containing and lead-based paint findings.

The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from the General Services Administration Public Buildings Service Region 5 for a Construction Manager as Constructor for the Milwaukee Federal Building and US Courthouse Fire Life Safety project. Offerors should review the attached Request for Proposal documents for more details on products, services, response dates and other requirements.
