1. CHANGED: Section 28 31 00: 1.2 SCOPE A. A fully addressable fire alarm system shall be designed and installed in accordance with the specifications and drawings. Provide the devices as shown in plan.
B. Remove all old equipment and those conduits, wire molding, boxes and wiring that are readily accessible. Existing exposed conduit and conduit between drop-in tiles and the floor slab above is considered accessible. All fire alarm panels, initiation and indication devices shall be new. Except as outlined in Section 28 31 00 1.2C, D and E.
1. Conduit and boxes located in wall spaces shall be cut off inside the ceiling space, marked and left in place.
2. In locations where existing wall mounted devices have been removed the existing backbox shall be covered by a blank stainless-steel cover plate.
3. Where duct detectors have been removed the duct shall be repaired with screwed-on sheet metal, sealant and insulation.
4. After removal of existing wall mounted devices the old box shall be covered by a blank brushed stainless-steel cover plate.
5. Furnish and install new ceiling tiles where existing equipment has been removed as a result of this work.
