About this file
This is a Notice to Bidders providing guidance on bid depth estimation for helical pile/anchor installations on a campus electrical systems upgrade project. For bidding purposes, contractors should use a bulwark installed length of 25 feet per horizontal helical anchor as the baseline estimate, with the option to carry an anticipated range of 20 to 35 feet and include a unit price for each additional linear foot beyond the 25-foot base. The notice emphasizes that this 25-foot depth is for estimating and bidding only and does not constitute a design value.
The notice clarifies that final helical anchor length, configuration, and termination criteria—including required installation torque, proof testing, corrosion protection, and predrilling requirements—will be determined by the specialty helical pile/anchor engineer in coordination with the Project Geotechnical Engineer of Record based on the project geotechnical report. The Structural Engineer of Record does not establish final anchor specifications and bears no responsibility for contractor means and methods, installation criteria, or subsurface conditions. The notice was issued on January 22, 2026, by Deborah Cole, President of AES Group, Inc., located in Parker, Colorado.

1/22/2026
For bidding purposes only, a bulwark installed length of 25 feet per horizontal helical anchor may be used as the basis of bid. Contractors may carry an anticipated range of 20 to 35 feet and include a unit price per additional linear foot beyond the 25-foot base length.
Please note that the helical anchor length/depth stated above is for estimating and bidding purposes only and is not a design value. Final helical anchor length, configuration, and termination criteria, including required installation torque and/or proof testing, corrosion protection, and any predrilling requirements, shall be determined by the specialty helical pile/anchor engineer and coordinated with the Project Geotechnical Engineer of Record based on the project geotechnical report (attached). The Structural Engineer of Record does not establish final helical anchor length or depth and is not responsible for contractor means and methods, installation criteria, or subsurface condition.
