About this file
This document is a GRAMA (Government Records Access and Management Act) Claim of Business Confidentiality form from the Utah State Archives' Office of the Government Records Ombudsman. The form is designed for a company to assert confidentiality protections for specific types of sensitive business information submitted as part of a Request for Proposals. The checkboxes indicate potential confidential information categories including non-public financial statements, specific employee contact details, customer information, client lists, or other unspecified proprietary data.
The form outlines two primary legal grounds for claiming confidentiality: (1) protection of trade secrets as defined in Utah Code Section 13-24-2, which covers information with independent economic value that is not generally known and is subject to reasonable secrecy efforts, and (2) commercial information that, if disclosed, could result in unfair competitive injury or impair the government entity's future information gathering capabilities. The document provides a structured template for a company to formally claim and justify business confidentiality, requiring signatures, company identification, and a concise statement of supporting reasons for the confidentiality claim.
