About this file
This document is a Summary of Work section (01 10 00) for the Oregon State Penitentiary (OSP) IT Room Dual Agent Fire Suppression – Phase 1 project, involving the Oregon Department of Corrections (ODOC). The project aims to protect security electronics equipment with dual agent fire suppression cylinders, to be implemented according to MFIA Inc. Consulting Engineers' drawings. The work will take place inside the secure perimeter of OSP, with the contractor limited to working in one building or area at a time, supported by two security escorts. Work hours are restricted to 6 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays, and access will be through Vehicle Gate 5 with a security escort. The project has a substantial completion timeline of 100 calendar days and a final completion timeline of 120 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed.
The contractor is responsible for all plan review, permitting, fees, and coordination of inspections, with the need to verify permit requirements with the City of Salem's Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). The existing fire alarm system is a Simplex 4100ES. After bid award, the contractor must provide a Schedule of Values that breaks out project costs by building to facilitate owner capitalization tracking. No specific pricing details are provided in this document, which primarily focuses on project scope, logistical requirements, and administrative procedures for executing the fire suppression system installation at the Oregon State Penitentiary.
