About this file
This document is a Summary of Work specification section for the Oregon State Penitentiary (OSP) IT Room Dual Agent Fire Suppression – Phase 1 project, involving the Oregon Department of Corrections (ODOC). The project aims to protect security electronics equipment with dual agent fire suppression cylinders, with work to be performed according to MFIA Inc. Consulting Engineers' drawings. The contractor will work inside the secure perimeter of OSP, with owner-provided security escorts, and is limited to working in two buildings or areas at a time. Work hours are restricted to 6 AM - 2:30 PM Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays, and access will be through Vehicle Gate 5 with a security escort. The project has a substantial completion timeline of 150 calendar days and a final completion deadline of 180 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed.
The contractor is responsible for all plan review, permitting, fees, and inspection coordination, with the existing fire alarm system being a Simplex 4100ES. The contractor must verify permit requirements with the City of Salem and provide a Schedule of Values after bid award, breaking out project costs by building for capitalization purposes. No specific pricing details are provided in this document, which serves as a technical specification outlining the project's scope, location, working conditions, and timeline for the fire suppression system installation at the Oregon State Penitentiary.
