GENERAL
CONTRACTOR USE AREA
Denver, CO 2024-05-01
NOTES
1. Imagery is from the United States Department of Agriculture National Agriculture Imagery Program (2015). Imagery obtained through the USGS National Geospatial Program (The National Map Viewer), retrieved April 2021:
https://apps.nationalmap.gov/viewer/
2. Existing utility information shown is approximate. The Contractor shall verify the location of all features and utilities prior to the start of work.
3. All existing facilities, features, and instrumentation shall be protected unless specifically identified for demolition or removal.
4. Contractor Use Area Descriptions (see Section 51 00 30 - Photographs for pictures of the Contractor Use Areas):
Area 1: An existing cleared location adjacent to the construction area. This area can be used for staging equipment, creating excavation piles, new material storage, etc. No tree cutting, tree pruning, or excavation shall occur to this area.
Areas 2 and 3: Campgrounds nearest the spillway bridge. These campgrounds can be used to stage and store equipment, store smaller fabricated features, and potentially house construction trailers. No tree pruning, tree clearing, excavation, or other surface modifications are permitted in the campgrounds. All campgrounds shall remain in as-is conditions.
Area 4: An existing rock yard that is cleared of all vegetation. The usable area in this location is approximately 1.33 acres total (not all contiguous). There are no security measures in place at this site (fencing, cameras, etc.) and the adjacent road is open to the public. This area can be used for material processing, material stockpiling, and storage of heavier equipment. This will also be the location for wasting unused site materials and will contain the trees to be used for site restoration. Areas outside of the regrading and surfacing shall be left in pre-construction conditions.

This survey shows a "Modified State Plane Coordinate" (Ground Coordinates) that reflects ground distances using a Ground scale factor of: 1.00022512553549 Project latitude: N46°37'42.09679" Project longitude: W121°16'14.06139" False northing offset: 0.000 False easting offset: 0.000 Project height: 2929.884
Unit of Measure: US Survey Feet (Ground) Vertical datum: Elevations are based on existing benchmarks at the dam. The previous survey at Clear Creek Dam as shown in the AutoCAD drawing provided by others (ClearCreekFish Passage_AL_LadderP&P) used the Brass Cap found on the concrete structure of the dam, this monument is stamped with an elevation that appears to be 3016.00. However, the elevation held on this monument in the previous survey was 3016.179 feet. This survey holds the same monument and the elevation of 3016.179 feet for vertical control. This vertical datum is NOT NAVD 88 or NGVD 29.
This is and should be considered a “local” datum controlled by this existing monument.
Utility Warning:
The above and underground utilities shown hereon have been located from field survey information.
The surveyor makes no guarantee that the underground utilities shown comprise all such utilities in the area, either in service or abandoned. The surveyor further does not warrant that the underground utilities shown are in the exact location indicated, although he does certify that they are located as accurately as possible from information available. The surveyor has not physically located the underground utilities.
Trees:
The Trees shown in this drawing were located using ground-based LIDAR scanning methods. This survey makes no attempt to identify the exact number, size or location of all trees on this site.
Piers:
Piers 1 through 4 shown in this drawing are used for monitoring the dam. Every effort should be made to protect these monuments.

NOTES:
1. For Fish Ladder Plan and Profile, see 61653 and 61654.
2. For Design Data and Concrete General Notes, see 61662.
3. Trees in the hatched area shown will be cut down by others prior to the award of this contract with no additional tree removal permitted. Root balls, small downed trees, and other vegetation that remains shall be removed per Section 31 11 00 - Clearing and Grubbing.
4. Existing control building to remain undisturbed other than interior electrical work that is part of this contract.
5. Coordinates shown for chain link fencing are approximate. Exact locations may be adjusted slightly to miss trees or other objects. Chain link fence shall be installed approximately 3-feet behind existing pipe fence. Openings in the fence shall be provided as dimensioned. Details for the chain link fence can be found on 40-D-7016. See Section 51 00 30 - Photographs for pictures of existing pipe fence.
6. Approximately 70 linear feet of existing chain link fence and gate to be removed by Contractor with 40 linear feet being reused as shown. New fence to tie into existing fence at existing post as shown.
7. Disturbance limits are considered to be the same as the new site fencing extents.
8. The existing bridge is posted for 19-tons. Additional capacity may available depending on truck configuration and loading. See Section 51 00 80 - Overload Permit for additional details.
9. Approximate area of protected fungus marked in the field. Limit disturbance as much as possible during construction activities. Scale: 3/64" = 1'-0"

TYPICAL SECTIONS
33-D-61658
TYPICAL SECTION - FISH LADDER FOUNDED IN ROCK
NOTES:
1. For Fish Ladder Plan and Profile, see 61654 and 61655.
2. For Fish Ladder Earthwork Plans and Sections, see 61656 through 61659.
3. CLSM to be placed as needed to make enough room for compaction equipment to fit adjacent to the walls (shown as 2'-0").
4. Excavation paylines for "common excavation" is based on 1.5:1 slopes and "rock excavation" is based on 1:10 sloped as shown.
5. Areas that require more than 9" of unreinforced concrete (6" more than clear cover) to be cast against bedrock, the Contractor shall add an additional mat of reinforcement as shown. The reinforcement should continue to the top of bedrock. Above this surface, common excavation and double-sided forms shall be used.
6. These areas are assumed to be cast against bedrock with single sided forms. The concrete needed to fill this additional area is included in the bid schedule quantity.
7. Ditch is shown on earthwork plans and sections as general overview.
Exact details can be adjusted in the field as determined by COR.
8. Areas founded in soil shall have 3 feet of excavation past bottom of slab or to bedrock, whichever is less, and then backfilled appropriately.
9. The Reservoir and River structures shall be backfilled with concrete up to the bedrock surface and CLSM from bedrock to final grade.
10. Soil anchor required at all terminating edges of geotextile.

NOTES:
1. For symbols and notation refer to ASCE 7-16, Section 2.2.
2. Refer to ASCE 7-16, Section 2.3 for load combinations.
3. Omit roof live loads (Lr), snow loads (S), or wind loads (W) where or when they do not occur.
4. Include fluid weight or pressure loads (F) or lateral earth pressure loads (H) when they occur.
5. Earthquake load (E) for the substructure consists of the pseudo static lateral force produced by applying the peak horizontal ground acceleration to the mass of the structure.
6. The value of H to be used in combination with E for the substructure consists of the earthquake loads from backfill that are applied to the substructure as an active force. Refer to Bureau of Reclamation publication, "Design Criteria for Concrete Retaining Walls - 1977".
7. Earthquake load (E) shown in these equations developed using ASCE 7-16, Section 2.3.6.
