According to Sheet 77 , the turbine discharge centerline will be 7’-0” above the floor of the discharge weir. The elevation of that floor is 3013.50 according to Sheet 27, and the elevation of the floor slab that the turbine soleplate is installed on is 3019.50 according to Sheet 26. That puts the elevation of the discharge centerline at 3020.5, leaving no room for an equipment pad. Is the Soleplate actually going to be embedded in the concrete floor as it appears to be called out in Spec Section 33 12 71.C.4?
Refer to updated specification Section 33 12 71, Vertical Turbine Pumping Units, and specification Drawing 33-D-61737.
According to sheet 127, the anchor embedment should be at least 10x the anchor diameter. The Soleplate anchor holes are sized for 10” anchors, and the slab is only 8” thick. Are we to drill a through-hole in the slab and grout in the anchors?
Refer to specifications Drawing 33-D-61667. Contractor to adjust anchorage to work within the dimensional constraints of the slab or provide a proposed anchor design that satisfies the loading conditions.
51 What is the load rating for the spillway bridge? The spillway bridge was designed for HS-20 loading and does not have any load postings. All legal loads are able to use this bridge.
52 Note 9 on Dwg. Sheet 17 states to backfill the Reservoir and River structures with concrete and CLSM.
Please provide a dimension from the ends of each how far this zone is to be.
Specification Drawing 33-D-61666 and 33-D-61676 delineates what is considered the "Reservoir Structure" and the "River Structure", which are 29'-8" long and 22'-6" long, respectively.
May the fish ladder sections founded in rock, other than the Reservoir and River structures, be over excavated and backfilled with compacted backfill to allow for two-sided wall forming? It is unknown how the rock will excavate in regards to overbreak adding unknown risk for concrete over run. The rock excavation payline allows for virtually no overbreak volume for additional concrete.
Two-sided wall forming is not restricted in the contract document; only required in areas above bedrock. If the Contractor prefers to excavate addition amounts to facilitate two-sided wall forming below bedrock, it will be considered at the convenience of the Contractor and the Government will not pay for the additional excavation. Paylines shown in Specification Drawings will be used for payment.
54 The height of the chain link fence (CLIN 36) is not called out. Specification Drawing 40-D-7016 indicates that chain link fences are 6 foot high fabric unless otherwise noted on specific site plans.
55 On Sht. 51, Note 2 specifies the 2” grating. However, the note states the bearing bars are to be 2 ½”.
Please clarify. Refer to updated Specifications Drawing 33-D-61693.
File details come from the government source that posted it. Updated .
