Sheet1
| Park: | MALU | |
| PMIS: | 293291 | |
| Project Name: | Rehabilitate the Visitor Center and Headquarters | |
| Question# | Question: | Answer: |
| 1 | Will there be any protocol for the mold and asbestos noted in bid? | See specification section 02 82 00 and other contract language for asbestos abatement requirements. Mold abatement is not part of this contract, mold report is provided for reference only. See Hazardous materials language in the contract. |
| 2 | If no protocol what specifically do we bid on? The mold report shows elevated levels in the store and possibly the theater. | See above |
| 3 | Testing will need to be done to the stucco of the entrance to see if asbestos. If area is not hot is all stucco removed and replaced? | Asbestos scope is outlined in 02 82 00. Exterior stucco is not a part of this contract. If contractor sees otherwise please provide specific citations from contract documents. |
| 4 | How do we know which ceiling tiles to replace, it states only about 20% replacement. Who will determine suitability or replacement? | 20% replacement will be identified during construction in consultation with the successful contractor and the Government. |
| 5 | It looks like we need to dismantle and remove lighting grid in Exhibit 17 to remove and replace ceiling tiles. Are we allowed to do this? | Exhibit 17 dismantle and reconstruction approval is contingent on upon submission of means and methods during construction. |
| 6 | Also how about the bridge in the Exhibit area? Is it to be removed for ceiling access? | Bridge to remain in place during construction. |
| 7 | HVAC cleaning. It stated that units and plenums will be replaced and then states in HVAC that the plenums are to be cleaned. Can we get a clear picture of when what and where the ducts shall be cleaned? | Specific drawing and/or specification section indications are required to answer this question, please provide more detail. The Government does not see any conflicting requirements with respect to the plenums. |
| 8 | Throughout the RFQ it states remove ceiling tile assembly does that include the grid and hangers? | Assembly includes grid and wire hangers. |
| 9 | ROOF DECK PANEL COMPONENTS |
A. Cementitious deck form board products, including the following:
1. Roof Deck Panels:
a. Physical:
1) Material 1-1/2” Aspen wood fibers bonded with inorganic hydraulic cement, bonded to Dow Styrofoam brand extruded foam insulation, bonded to top surface of 19/32 inch (11.1 mm) plywood C-D Exposure class 1 min 4 ply.
| b. Nominal Panel Thickness to match existing. | Tectum thickness is the 1-1/2” as indicated in specs and mentioned above. 25% replacement should be assumed as indicated in the drawings. Actual thickness must be verified in field by contractor prior to ordering material and prior to roof demo. | ||
| 10 | Detail 5/AC.2 shows 5" min. thickness, is this what we are to use? | the 5” shown in the detail is insulation | |
| 11 | I don’t see any rooftop access at the museum in the drawings . RFI references scaffold tower for access, G0.3 doesn't reference. Is there a roof hatch to the high roof ? |
| Drawings show the mechanical room has the only hatch and is to receive some safety add ons. | Both roof levels have access from inside the building. See note 7.12 on sheet A1.5 for both hatch locations. | ||
| 12 | Addenda 3 contains the WJE canopy evaluation where they recommend full replacement of the canopy’s, yet I can’t locate any type of NPS response reflecting the same. Then there is the aspect of the WJE referenced EPDM gutter liner and structural which is clearly an issue and still no reference outside that report with a correcting directive in plans or specs. | The canopy evaluation is FIO “For Information Only”, all contract requirements from the report were evaluated by the design team to be part of this project were included in the contract drawings and specifications. |
