When the SSHO is temporarily (up to 24 hours) off-site, a Designated Representative (DR), as identified in the AHA may be used in lieu of an Alternate SSHO, and must be on the project site at all times when work is being performed. Note that the DR is a collateral duty safety position, with safety duties in addition to their full-time occupation.

A. Read the collateral duties requirement in the safety spec.
Red 1.5.1.1.1: The SSHO may also serve as the Quality Control Manager. The SSHO may also serve as the Superintendent. Assignments of collateral duties shall not affect the fulfillment of the individual role of SSHO, QCM, and Superintendent.
