RFI#RFI ItemResponse
Please reference Solicitation 12034318R0017_Final_06072018 Part II Contract Clauses (Section I- 3 FAR 52.222-62 Paid Sick Leave Under Executive Order 13706 (JAN 2017). Is this clause would also be applicable to employees of Subcontractors?Yes, this clause is applicable to all subcontractors.Amendment 003
The under slab vapor barrier requirements are conflicting.Delete Cast In Place Concrete Note 19 on Sheet S0.1 regarding underslab vapor barrier.Amendment 003
Is the GC required to add $3000 to the bid for CDA irrigation capitalization fees per L1.4?Yes. See note on L1.4 and Section C-5 of the Solicitation.Amendment 003
Section 086200 calls for a Basis of Design of a Velux glass skylight but approves CPI, Kalwall and Wasco. That is quite a range of possible materials. All of these materials have different performance characteristics. There is nothing in the specification about light transmission, U-Value, OSHA compliance or Solar Heat Gain. Would you be amenable to using the same specification as used for Phase 1 and Phase 2, Section 084523? This would also allow the skylights to match the translucent wall panels being installed on Phase 2.We would prefer a clear-glazed skylight unit, and not a insulated translucent sandwich panel system (as in Phase 2).Amendment 003
The specification calls for a 3’-0” x 5’-0” standard skylight size but A2.4 appears to show two 5’-0” x 8’-0”. Is the larger size correct? Please ignore spec, drawings are correct. 5x8 please.Amendment 003
The specification calls for an integral curb but detail 14/A2.6 calls for a steel tube per structural. Which is accurate? Please provide steel tube as curb.Amendment 003
Detail 14/A2.6 calls for a “continuous steel tube, Ref. structural “ but sheet S2.3 does not show any steel tubes at the skylight areas.Provide an HSS 8 x 2 x 3/8 tube steel frame around skylight opening as shown. Provide 3/16" x 3" sq. flanges (2 per corner) at base at all 4 corners for 1/2" diameter x 4" lags to solid 6x blocking below.Amendment 003
Is there a need for two skylights requiring two separate curbs? Would you be open to a single, one panel skylight, 5’-0” x 18’-0” on a single steel tube curb per structural? Less framing inside, less finish work inside and less labor to frame and install. Please provide custom skylight as designed, with two separate openings for two skylights.Amendment 003
Velux does not offer a standard 5’-0” x 8’-0” Fixed Curb Mounted Commercial Skylight. Please provide custom skylight as designed at 5'x8'.Amendment 003
The Velux “integral curb” is not actually integral. It is a factory fabricated curb that mounts to the roof and then the skylight is mounted to the curb. Basically like all the other skylights offered. This is a moot point anyway if the curb is actually the structural steel tube as noted on 14/A2.6.Acknowledged.Amendment 003
Side Walk detail: please reference S9.1/10 and detail C-5 on C9.1. 59.1/10 shows a rebar thicken edge detail for sidewalk/apron, but no reference to that detail is found on the Structural drawings. C9.1 shows detail for typical side walk. Which detail is to be used for new side walks and aprons for this project? Please refer to Civil drawings and details for all exterior concrete curbs, sidewalks, etc. Sidewalk shall be per the Detail on sheet C9.1. Aprons shall be per city standard details for any HS-20 loading locations.Amendment 003
Elevator Sump Pump Pit: There is no structural detail (rebar, size of walls/foundation) for the sump pit. Can you please provide a structural detail for the elevator sump pump pit? There is a cut section shown on the Plumbing drawings, but no details on rebar, and wall sizes, foundation, etc.Provide a cast concrete sump with min. 6" walls and base with #4 @ 12" o/c each way for walls and base slab. Dirt form exterior wall face per contractor option. Sump dimensions and depth to be coordinated with pump specifications. Provide cover grating with bearing ledge.Amendment 003
Rigid Foundation Insulation: can you please confirm extent of under slab rigid insulation at perimeter of foundation walls? Architectural drawings do not show horizontal foundation insulation, but specs calls for 36” of 3” thick. Can you please verify extent of horizontal insulation and thickness? No underslab insulation is required. Please ignore spec. No horizontal insulation under slab is required, because of our continuous insulation at the building envelope.Amendment 003
If horizontal insulation under slab is required, are we to install vertical insulation on the inside of the foundation walls? Currently the architectural drawings is showing to install vertical foundation rigid insulation on the outside of foundation walls.Vertical insulation at all perimeter stem walls is required on outside of foundation walls (per 13/A5.5), but not the inside of the foundation walls. No horizontal insulation under slab is required, because of our continuous insulation at the building envelope.Amendment 003
Please reference Note 5 on A1.0. Note 5 is not shown in the drawings, and no reference to Civil drawings. Can you please clarify? Please ignore keynote 5. It is not applicable.Amendment 003
How thick is the site concrete at the amphitheater and front of the building? Civil drawing C9.1 has two details with two different thicknesses. Please see C9.1 details 2 and C-5.Utilize Detail C-5 for concrete thickness at the amphitheater and city standard details for vehicular traffic.Amendment 003
Fire Sprinkler Question from Subcontractor: We need to know if the underside of all trusses and floor joist will receive drywall. We have only been able to see the third floor receiving drywall, but no other details for the other floors and ceiling. Can you please confirm? No horizontal fire-rated assemblies are required between floor or between spaces. At a minimum, acoustical batt insulation is required per the contract documents .Amendment 003
City of Coeur d’ Alene has a 60 lb ground snow code requirement. Structural general notes indicate 40 lb roof snow load but no indication of ground snow load. Please confirm if design meets snow load code standards for City of Coeur d’ Alene.Ground snow load 60 psf and roof snow load 40 psf updated on S0.1 per addendum. Structural design meets 60 psf ground/40 psf roof criteria.Amendment 003
Systems Furniture-If at all possible, can you please provide us with an AutoCAD file of both floors?Attached are DWG files of 1st and 2nd floors.Amendment 003
Systems Furniture-The typical show positions A-H2. However, we did not find any locations labeled “B” on either floor. Can you please verify this is true? This is possible. The A-H2 designations are meant to give bidders approximations. The bidder/supplier is ultimately responsible for all parts, pieces, quantities to install as shown on the plans and also to field verify dimensions before ordering. There may be some variations to the standards based on building dimensions in certain areas.Amendment 003
Systems Furniture-c. Are you able to provide quantities of each typical?Supplier is responsible for all quantities.Amendment 003
Systems Furniture-Do we have to include cost for chairs as well for each position? In the KEY it is noted that chairs are not included in contract.Amendment 003
Systems Furniture-Areas such as “F106” and “F109”, etc. appear to show just a work surface. Is this to be included as part of the systems furniture package?Yes, there are shared work surfaces such as these shown that are to be included as part of the systems product. Again, the bidder/supplier is responsible for all parts needed to install their particular product according to the drawings.Amendment 003
Question in regards to Roller Shades: Addenda 1 states to use Hunter Douglas Green Screen Evolve 1% fabric. This fabric is not available to MechoShade which is the balance of the specification. Are we to bid Hunter Douglas roller shades? If so, Hunter Douglas Roller Shades FR or Hunter Douglas RB500 roller shades? RB500 is close to MechoShade in quality and function. In addition, as the fabric is now a sunscreen and not blackout, are side and sill channels still required?Basis of Design for Typical Roller Shades shall be: Single Manual Roller Shade, Hunter Douglas, Green Screen, Evolve HD 3501, Rain 1% openness, fascia top/back cover, R16 clutch. Blackout shades are required in room Large Meeting Room 105. Basis of Design for Blackout Shades shall be: Single Manual Roller Shade, Hunter Douglas, Blockout Fabric with room darkening side and sill channels, manual drive with fascias, Morocco, R16 clutch.Amendment 003
Reference stone called out as "Daltile Basalt 12x24 Natural Mica". Need to get more information. Basalts come from different countries, and has different finishes, most popular being honed. Usually gray or black. Appreciate any feedback you can give or reply with images front and back from samples you may have.Amended Basis of Design: American Olean, Concrete Chic Collection, Color: Stylish Charcoal CC68.Amendment 003
What is the setback for landscaping trees and the Avista gas line? The minimum setback from the Avista gas line is 5 ft for landscaping trees.
