Re-submittal is required until drawings are compliant with specifications and design indicated in drawings. Submittals will be responded to in a timely man-ner but may require coordination and feedback by others affected by this work. Do not begin produc-tion until “Approved” or “Approved as Noted” shop drawings are returned.

2. Final Submittal: One (1) PDF set showing final “action” marking and applicable notes. Contractor shall retain additional copies as noted:

EXHIBIT DOCUMENTS 34150 - 11

a. Maintain one (1) copy in an undisturbed condition for use in maintenance manuals and other closeout documents.

b. One (1) copy shall be carefully and neatly “marked-up” by the Contractor throughout the duration of the Work as a record document.

c. Final Shop Drawings, with noted changes or subsequent clarifications attached, to be availa-ble on the project site for use by others as requested.

d. Deliver final as-built drawings in live digital format to the Owner.

C. Product Data: Collect required data into one (1) submittal for each unit of work or system. Mark each copy to show which choices and options are applicable to this Project. Include manufacturer’s standard printed recommendations for application and use, compli-ance with standards, application of labels and seals, notation of verified field measurements, and special coordination requirements.

1. Maintain one (1) set of product data (for each submittal) at project site, available for reference by

Owner’s Field Observer, Owner, Facility Manager and others as requested.

D. Graphic Layouts Requirements: Layouts are to be provided for each item. Submit full-scale layouts of each sign or graphic showing the complete layout. Scale drawings are sufficient for items 24" x 24" and larger with text samples at full size attached. See Section 34550 Exhibit Graphics for more information.

E. Sample Requirements: Provide units identical with final conditions of proposed materials or products for the Work. Include “range” samples (not less than three (3) units) where unavoidable variations may be ex-pected. Describe or identify variations between units of each set. Provide manufacturers full range of sam-ples where selection is required; submit for selection as noted above. Prepare samples to match Owner or Exhibit Designer’s sample or photographs where so indicated. Include information with each sample to show generic description, source or product name and manufacturer, limitations, and compliance with in-dustry standards. Samples are submitted for review and confirmation of color, pattern, texture, and “kind” by Owner and Exhibit Designer. Neither Owner nor Exhibit Designer will “test” samples (except as other-wise indicated) for compliance with other requirements, which are the exclusive responsibility of Contrac-tor.

1.06 MISCELLANEOUS SUBMITTALS

A. Quality Control Set: Maintain returned final set of samples to the Owner, in suitable condition and available for quality control comparisons by Owner and others as requested.

B. Prototypes and Mock-ups: Process transmittal forms to provide a record of activity.

C. Inspection and Test Reports: Classify each as either Shop Drawing or Product Data, depending upon whether report is uniquely prepared for this project or a standard publication of workmanship control test-ing at point of production, and process accordingly.

D. Warranties: Verify requirements for warranties, product or workmanship bonds, maintenance agreements and software ownership with the Owner.

E. Standards: Except where specified integrally with “Product Data” submittal, submit a single copy of indus-try standards for Owner or Exhibit Designer's use. Where workmanship at project site and elsewhere is gov-erned by standard, furnish additional copies to fabricators, installers and others involved in performance or installation of the work.

F. Maintenance/Operating Manuals: See Section 34800, Article 1.03

EXHIBIT DOCUMENTS 34150 - 12

G. Materials and Tools: Refer to individual Specification Sections and coordinate with Owner for required quantities of spare parts, extra and overrun stock, maintenance tools and devices, keys and similar physical units to be submitted.

H. General Distributing: Provide additional distribution of submittals to subcontractors, suppliers, fabricators, installers, governing authorities and others as necessary for proper performance of the work.

I. Timing of Submittals: Provide submittals in a timely fashion to allow at least ten (10) business days, not in-cluding transmittal time, for the Owner, Exhibit Designer's, Consultant's or Engineer’s review and handling.

1.08 ACTION ON SUBMITTAL:

A. Action: Owner, Exhibit Designer, Consultant or Engineer will review each submittal, mark with “Action,” and where possible, return within ten (10) business days of receipt not including transmittal time. Where submittal must be held for coordination, Contractor will be so advised without delay.

B. Leave a 4" x 6" (100mm x 150mm) space on all submittals for each required “Action Stamp.”

SECTION 34200

PROJECT COORDINATION

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.01 GENERAL COORDINATION PROVISIONS

A. Carefully study and compare Contract Documents before proceeding with fabrication and installation of

Work. Promptly advise Exhibit Designer of any error, inconsistency, omission, or apparent discrepancy dis-covered.

B. Carefully study and compare Contract Documents with base building construction drawings and conduct periodic site surveys to verify field conditions and coordination of exhibit environment with base building environment.

C. Requests for information (RFI): Allot time in construction scheduling for liaison with Exhibit Designer;

establish procedures for handling queries and clarifications, using an RFI form. RFI form should include RFI number, date submitted, date response is due, drawing or spec reference, and space for responder’s name, date and response.

1. If Contractor disagrees with Exhibit Designer’s response to Contractor’s RFI, Contractor shall notify

Exhibit Designer within seven days of receipt of response. Lack of such notification shall be under-stood to mean that Contractor agrees with response.

D. Coordination Meetings: In addition to meetings specified in Section 34250, hold coordination meetings and conferences with personnel and subcontractors to ensure coordination of Work.

E. Coordination: Coordinate scheduling, submittals, and Work of various Specification sections to avoid con-flicts and ensure efficient and orderly sequence of installation of interdependent construction elements.

1. Coordinate Work of various Specification sections having interdependent responsibilities for installa-tion, connection, and operation.

2. Verify that characteristics of operating equipment are compatible with building utilities and services.

3. Prepare coordination drawings as required. See requirements elsewhere in this Section.

4. Conduct pre-installation conferences as required. See Section 34250.

F. Except as otherwise indicated, conceal pipes, ducts, conduit and wiring in construction. Coordinate loca-tions of fixtures and outlets with finish elements.

G. Make provision to accommodate items scheduled for later installation.

A. Coordination Drawings: Prepare as required to coordinate all portions of Work. Include discussion of coor-dination drawings at complementary pre-installation conferences. See Section 34250.

1. Coordination drawings show relationship and integration of different construction elements that require careful coordination during fabrication or installation to fit in space provided or to function as intended.

2. Prior to fabricating or installing work, prepare composite coordination drawings at appropriate scale;

detail major elements, components, and systems of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical such as equipment, components, and materials in relationship with each other, installations, and build-ing components. Include dimensions.

3. Indicate locations where space is limited for installation and access and where sequencing and coordi-nation of installations are of importance to efficient flow of Work.
