Use this section for required testing, inspection or other quality control services that are not included in only one technical section, either because the primary components of the assembly to be tested are specified in two or more sections, or because the condition to be tested is produced as a result of the work of two or more sections. For example, this might include the following services when they concern the work of many sections:
Testing of composite mockups for compliance with structural, wind and moisture resistance, blast or ballistic resistance, or seismic criteria.
Measurement of total acoustical performance for compliance with functional criteria.
Verification of the relative absence of contaminants or other unwanted substances for compliance with health standards or cleanliness criteria.
Determination of envelope heat transfer or air infiltration sources and rates for compliance with environmental criteria.
Such quality control tests should only be considered for verification of those critical programmatic requirements that can not be adequately assured by standard submittals and routine practices.
