SECTION 012700 - UNIT PRICES

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.1 SUMMARY

A. A unit price provides an amount proposed by the Contractor and stated on the Bid Form as a price per unit of measurement for materials or services that will be added to or deducted from the Contract price by change order if the estimated quantity of the corresponding work required by the Contract Documents is increased or decreased.

1. The Base Bid Quantity is the estimated quantity to be included in the Contractor’s lump sum base bid.

2. The Limits of Variation from the Base Bid Quantity is the maximum variation in quantity, positive or negative, to be applied to the Base Bid Quantity for which the Unit Price is applicable.

3. Unit Rates for quantities in excess of the Limits of Variation quantity will be determined as by the Contract Agreement.

B. Unit prices include all necessary material and labor costs, overhead, profit, taxes, shipping and other related expenses for the added or deducted work.

1.2 PROCEDURES

A. List of Unit Price Items: A schedule of unit price items is included in Part 3. Specification Sections referenced in the schedule contain requirements for materials described under each unit price.

1. Submit a list of Unit Price Items with the unit prices filled in as part of the bid.

B. Measurement: Method of measurement for each unit price is specified in the section applicable to the work.

1. Submit updated measurements for each unit price item with payment applications.

C. Verification: The Government reserves the right to reject the Contractor's measurement of work in place that involves use of an established unit price, and to have this work measured at the Government's expense by an independent surveyor.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.1 UNIT PRICE ITEM SCHEDULE

A. Unit Price Item No. 1: Dutchman Stone Repair.

FY15 Update Oct. 1, 2014 Unit Prices 012700 - 1

Robert C Weaver Federal Building, Granite Façade Repairs, Phase 2 Washington, DC Project Number # VDC00213

1. Description: Remove existing damaged stone greater than 3” with square cuts and affix new stone piece of matching size and appearance using stainless steel pins and epoxy adhesive, including all necessary preparation, protection, and cleanup measures, and in accordance with the “Granite” section of the “Dimension Stone Design Manual” published by the Marble Institute of America.

2. Measurement: each location of Dutchman Stone Repair.

3. Base Bid Quantity included in the Contract Documents: 40 locations.

B. Unit Price Item No. 2: Broken Stone Epoxy Repair.

1. Description: Remove cleanly broken stone pieces, drill and insert stainless steel pins, adhere intact pieces with epoxy grout, including all necessary preparation, protection, and cleanup measures, and in accordance with the “Granite” section of the “Dimension Stone Design Manual” published by the Marble Institute of America.

2. Measurement: each location of Broken Stone Epoxy Repair.

3. Base Bid Quantity included in the Contract Documents: 50 locations.

C. Unit Price Item No. 3: Mortar Patch Stone Repair.

1. Description: Repair existing damaged stone measuring 3 inches or less patching with approved epoxy stone patching mortar using stone dust at the finish surface to match the existing appearance, including all necessary preparation, protection, and cleanup measures, and in accordance with the “Granite” section of the “Dimension Stone Design Manual” published by the Marble Institute of America. .

2. Measurement: each location of Mortar Patch Stone Repair.

3. Base Bid Quantity included in the Contract Documents: 40 Locations.

D. Unit Price Item No. 4: Stone Crack Repair.

1. Description: Repair existing cracked stone in place by injecting crack with epoxy grout, finishing surface with epoxy and stone dust to match existing stone appearance, including all necessary protection and cleanup measures including all necessary preparation, protection, and cleanup measures, and in accordance with the “Granite” section of the “Dimension Stone Design Manual” published by the Marble Institute of America. .

2. Measurement: Linear feet of Stone crack repair.

3. Base Bid Quantity included in the Contract Documents: 200 Linear Feet.

E. Unit Price Item No. 5: Concrete Patch Repair.

1. Description: Concrete Patch Repair with architectural finish at areas exposed to view to match existing concrete texture and color. Work includes demolition, cleaning of existing reinforcing steel(rebar), coating existing rebar with zinc rich primer, adjusting rebar placement, supplementing badly corroded rebar, and also includes all preparation, protection, and cleanup measures, and shall be in accordance with the appropriate ACI RAP bulletins .

2. Measurement: Square Feet of Concrete Repair.

3. Base Bid Quantity included in the Contract Documents: 200 Square Feet.
