Water supply and sewerage

General information

This section of the project has been developed based on the following construction norms and initial documents:

- DBN V.2.5-64:2012, DBN V.2.2-15-2005, DBN V.2.2-25:2009;

- architectural and construction drawings;

- engineering drawings.

The barracks is a two-storied building with basement premises, with an architectural construction volume of V=Ω , m3. Indoor fire extinguishing, according to the instructions of DBN V.2.5-64:2012, should be provided for with a single jet with a minimum flow rate of 1.5 l/s.

A canteen for 150 people is planned on the first floor of the barracks building, so the number of meals realized in one day is determined by the formula:

𝑈𝑈 = 2,2 ∙ 𝑛𝑛 ∙ 𝑚𝑚 ∙ 𝑇𝑇 ∙ Ψ (note 6, table A.2 DBN V.2.5-64:2012) where n – is the number of seats;

m – is the number of seats taken;

T – is the working time, in hours;

Ψ - coefficient of unevenness of seats taken.

𝑈𝑈 = 2.2 ∙ 150 ∙ 2 ∙ 8 ∙ 0.45 = 2,376 𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚 𝑑𝑑𝑚𝑚𝑑𝑑

The number of servicemen living in the barracks (u) is 150 persons.

Determination of the estimated water consumption rate

Average daily consumption of cold and hot water for the needs of servicemen is:

𝑄𝑄𝑇𝑇𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡 = 90 ∙ 150 = 13,500 l d (в тому числі гарячої 𝑄𝑄𝑇𝑇 ℎ = 50 ∙ 150 = 7,500 l d )

Average daily costs for cooking meals in the canteen are:

𝑄𝑄𝑇𝑇𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡 = 12 ∙ 2,376 = 28,512 l d (в тому числі гарячої 𝑄𝑄𝑇𝑇ℎ = 4 ∙ 2,376 = 9,504 l d )

Maximum daily water consumption rates are determined by the formula (1) DBN V.2.5-64:2012:

𝑄𝑄𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡 = 𝑄𝑄𝑇𝑇𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡 ∙ 𝐾𝐾𝑑𝑑

𝑄𝑄𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚ℎ = 𝑄𝑄𝑇𝑇ℎ ∙ 𝐾𝐾𝑑𝑑

where 𝐾𝐾𝑑𝑑 — the coefficient of maximum daily unevenness, which taken according to table А4.

Then, for the barracks 𝑄𝑄𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡 = 13,500 ∙ 1.1 = 14,850 𝑚𝑚 𝑑𝑑

(𝑄𝑄𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚ℎ = 7,500 ∙ 1.1 = 8,850 𝑚𝑚 𝑑𝑑 )

and for the canteen𝑄𝑄𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡 = 28,512 ∙ 1.1 = 31,363 𝑚𝑚 𝑑𝑑

(𝑄𝑄𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚ℎ = 9,504 ∙ 1.1 = 10,454 𝑚𝑚 𝑑𝑑 )

Maximum second and hourly estimated consumption of water shall be determined depending on the number of consumers (U) and plates (N) using a proper PC program and entered in the main indicator table in the sheet "General data..." of this project.

Determination of the required water head at the Inlet of the building

The required water head for the barracks building water supply system are determined by the formula (17) DBN V.2.5-64:2012:

𝐻𝐻𝑝𝑝 = 𝐻𝐻𝑔𝑔𝑔𝑔𝑡𝑡𝑚𝑚 + Σ𝐻𝐻𝑙𝑙,𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡 + 𝐻𝐻𝑓𝑓 + 𝐻𝐻ℎ𝑔𝑔𝑚𝑚𝑡𝑡 = 6.85 + 5.0 + 12.0 + 5.0 = 28.85 𝑚𝑚.

(in case of fire 𝐻𝐻р = 7.20 + 5 + 1.5 + 10 = 23.70 m), where 𝐻𝐻𝑔𝑔𝑔𝑔𝑡𝑡𝑚𝑚 – water supply elevation head, m;

Σ𝐻𝐻𝑙𝑙,𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡𝑡 - total losses of the water head in the pipeline, m;

𝐻𝐻𝑓𝑓 - free head, m;

𝐻𝐻ℎ𝑔𝑔𝑚𝑚𝑡𝑡- losses in the water heater, m.

Determination of a heat flow for the hot water supply

Average hourly (given the heat losses) heat flow is determined by the formula:

𝑄𝑄𝑇𝑇ℎ = 1.16 ∙ 𝑔𝑔𝑇𝑇ℎ ∙ (55− 𝑡𝑡𝑐𝑐) + 𝑄𝑄ℎ𝑡𝑡 𝑘𝑘𝑘𝑘,

where 𝑡𝑡𝑐𝑐 — the temperature of cold water, 0С;

𝑄𝑄ℎ𝑡𝑡 – heat losses in the estimated sector, let's consider that k-f = 1.10;

𝑔𝑔𝑇𝑇ℎ - and determine the average hourly losses, 𝑚𝑚3 ℎ by the formula 𝑔𝑔𝑇𝑇ℎ = 𝑄𝑄𝑇𝑇 ℎ

𝑇𝑇

, (2) DBN V.2.5-64:2012,

So, for the barracks: 𝑔𝑔𝑇𝑇,𝑏𝑏𝑚𝑚𝑏𝑏 ℎ = 7,500

= 312.5 𝑚𝑚 ℎ , and for the canteen: 𝑔𝑔𝑇𝑇,𝑖𝑖𝑑𝑑 ℎ = 9 ,504

= 1,188 𝑚𝑚 ℎ .

Altogether for the barracks building:𝑔𝑔𝑇𝑇ℎ = 312.5 + 1,188 = 1,500 𝑚𝑚 ℎ (1.5 𝑚𝑚 ℎ ), then the average hourly heat flow is

𝑄𝑄𝑇𝑇ℎ = 1.16 ∙ 1.5 ∙ (550 − 50) ∙ 1.10 = 95,7 𝑘𝑘𝑘𝑘.

During an hour of the maximum water supply, 𝑄𝑄ℎгℎ = 1.16 ∙ 𝑔𝑔ℎгℎ ∙ (55 − 𝑡𝑡𝑐𝑐) + 𝑄𝑄ℎ𝑡𝑡 = 1.16 ∙ 3.10 ∙ 50 ∙ 1.10 = 197.8 𝑘𝑘𝑘𝑘, where 𝑔𝑔ℎгℎ = 3.10 𝑚𝑚3 ℎ — the maximum hot water consumption for the whole building

(calculated on a computer).

Water supply system (V1, T3, T4)

A water supply pipe of 𝐷𝐷𝑛𝑛=50 mm is designed to go into the building. At the inlet, in the heat generator room, mounted is a water metering unit with an LK-32X water meter that counts the amount of cold (including hot) water for the needs of the whole building. The meter was selected taking into account the passage of water for the fire-fighting needs without the need to open shutoff valves on the bypass line of the water-pressure unit.

To prevent the equipment failure and pollution of the pipelines, provision is made for installation of a self-cleaning AF-200 filter with a hydraulic drive, before the water metering unit.

The internal cold water supply system is combined with the fire pipeline.

The hot water supply system is centralized from the designed heat generator house No. 2 attached to the barracks building.

Sewerage (K1, K3)

Two sewerage systems are designed: a domestic one and an industrial one with the effluent discharge into the yard drainage systems.

The drainage systems are laid hidden:

- the stacks in sewer ducts and indents;

- admission to devices in wall-adjacent baseboards or indents;

- outlets under the basement ceiling.

In the canteen, the technological equipment for adaptation and processing of food and for dishwashing should be connected to the sewer networks with an air gap not less than 20mm from the top of a receiving funnel.

There is no internal drainage system.

Pipe material

The lead-in pipelines, water metering unit pipelines and the main pipeline of 𝐷𝐷𝑛𝑛=50mm should be made of steel water-and-gas supply galvanized pipes according to

GOST 3262-75*.

The rest of the pipelines and the hot water supply pipelines should be made of hot and cold water welded polypropylene pipes of 𝐷𝐷𝑛𝑛=15÷ 40 mm.

The internal sewerage system is designed to be made of PP (polypropylene) pipes and fittings thereto under TUU 30361225.001.2000 with the upper temperature limit, maintained by the PP-pipe system, of +95 0С.
