About this file
This specification document outlines the requirements for the Prineville Maintenance Station Maintenance Shop Roof Replacement project, managed by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) at 3571 NE 3rd Street in Prineville, Oregon. The project involves installation of a complete metal roofing system consisting of Taylor Metal Products MS-200 mechanically seamed 22-gauge metal roof panels with concealed fasteners and 180-degree seam detail, installed over engineered 16-gauge galvanized sub-purlins on the existing metal roof. The system includes ridge cap, eave flashings, butyl sealant, and snow guards with a factor of safety of 2 designed to withstand 25 psf snow loads. The roofing panels shall feature an 18-inch width striated profile with Kynar 500 paint system finish matching the existing building trim color. Construction operations are limited to 0700-1700 Monday through Friday, with a written notice to proceed required before work commencement. Prior to beginning roofing work, the contractor must provide a complete visual inspection of the roof and report any deficiencies not covered in the contract documents to the Construction Project Manager (CPM), Jesse Powning, at Jesse.POWNING@odot.oregon.gov or 541.554.4775.
The contractor must coordinate all activities with the CPM and maintain complete sets of contract documents on-site. Action submittals including product data and shop drawings for snow guard installation require 10 days for initial CPM review, with 5 days allowed for RFI responses. The contractor is responsible for contacting the building department for required inspections, as ODOT has obtained the building permit. A preconstruction meeting must be held no later than five business days following notice to proceed, with all major subcontractors and suppliers required to attend. The contractor shall provide temporary sanitary facilities, electrical power extensions, and lighting, with water and electric services available from existing systems without charge. All roofing panels must be installed according to manufacturer instructions using shearing tools only for cuts, with installation proceeding from east to west or north to south as verified with the CPM. Final completion requirements include as-built drawings submission, final cleaning to remove all waste and debris, and correction of any defects before requesting substantial completion inspection.
