About this opportunity
Burke County Board of Commissioners, Georgia is requesting proposals for a full-service property and casualty insurance broker of record with proposals due July 8, 2026 at 12:00 PM. The County requires a fully insured program — no self-insurance proposals will be considered — and will evaluate coverage effective October 1, 2026 for an annual term with four renewal options.
The scope encompasses approximately 50 building locations, 775 acres of industrial development land, 292 automobiles and trailers, contractor equipment, cyber coverage, law enforcement liability, employment practices liability, and specialized coverages including airport, canine mortality, and terrorism risk insurance. Brokers must provide loss prevention and safety training services, timely claim processing with quarterly loss run reporting, and risk management consultation. Proposals must include a general outline of proposed services, inspections, and associated costs if not included in premium. Commercial Property coverage requires 90 percent coinsurance with a $10,000 deductible and $178,941,000 in limits. Commercial General Liability requires a $1,000,000 per occurrence limit with a $3,000,000 aggregate. All liability policies must contain a waiver of immunity clause and unintentional errors and omissions provisions.
Minimum qualifications include agents' errors and omissions insurance with at least $1 million per occurrence limits, valid agent licenses, and submission of insurance certificates and example policies. Proposals must include company profiles with litigation history, financial stability information, and vendor references from three current customers, preferably similar Georgia local government entities. Respondents must submit completed compliance certifications confirming they are not on federal suspension or debarment lists. Proposals must be submitted in two sealed sets or electronically to mwiseman@burkecounty-ga.gov. Proposals will be publicly acknowledged on or around July 9, 2026. Burke County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all proposals.
