About this opportunity
The Rose Bowl Operating Company (RBOC) is seeking a qualified graphic designer for the Rose Bowl Stadium and Brookside Golf Courses through a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by the City of Pasadena. The contract, which will commence on July 1, 2023, has an initial one-year term with two potential one-year renewal options at the discretion of the RBOC Chief Executive Officer. Deliverables include designing stadium and campus signage, creating credentials and marketing materials, managing event signage, developing logos and design materials for enterprise and community events, updating brand assets, and designing the annual stadium report. The scope covers up to 25 major events (over 20,000 attendees), five produced events per year, and three community events annually. Proposers will be evaluated on a 100-point scale, with points distributed across experience (15 points), assigned personnel (15 points), scope of services (10 points), performance standards (25 points), cost proposal (25 points), and local business preferences (10 points). Minimum qualifications include three to five years of relevant graphic design experience, strong communication skills, availability during standard business hours and event periods, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Proposals are due by 5:30 pm on April 13, 2023, and must be submitted electronically through the City of Pasadena's eProcurement Portal.
While the RFP does not explicitly specify set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises, the documents include forms related to workforce diversity and equal employment opportunity. The Pasadena Taxpayer Protection Amendment Disclosure form requires detailed information about organizational leadership and ownership, suggesting a commitment to transparency in local government contracting. The comprehensive proposal package includes several mandatory forms such as the Unique Entity ID (SAM) form, Conflict of Interest Disclosure, and Disqualification Disclosure, which demonstrate the city's rigorous vendor vetting process. The contract does not indicate an existing incumbent vendor or specify a precise budget range, though the RFP requires proposers to submit a monthly pricing structure for services. Additional requirements include providing a comprehensive technical proposal, portfolio, statement of qualifications, and various required forms, with the entire proposal limited to 50 total pages. The Rose Bowl Stadium, an 89,766-seat venue hosting UCLA football games, the annual Rose Bowl Game, international soccer matches, concerts, and multi-day music festivals, will serve as the primary workspace for the selected graphic designer.
