About this opportunity
Brevard County is soliciting bids for the C-17 Lift Station Replacement project, a comprehensive infrastructure improvement initiative involving the relocation of an existing lift station from a county-owned parcel to a new 40 ft x 40 ft parcel. The project requires constructing approximately 470 linear feet of 12-inch and 16-inch gravity sewer along N. Courtenay Parkway and Catalina Isle Drive, abandoning existing infrastructure by grouting in place, and installing a new lift station with associated mechanical, electrical, and civil infrastructure. Qualified contractors must provide a detailed lump sum bid covering 41 line items, including mobilization, site preparation, piping, electrical components, and site restoration. The bid opening is scheduled for May 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting held on March 28, 2025. Bidders must submit a 5% bid bond and demonstrate compliance with various requirements, including E-Verify documentation, Build America Buy America Act (BABAA) provisions, and specific technical specifications outlined in the comprehensive bid documents.
The project does not appear to have specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises, but it does require strict compliance with domestic manufacturing requirements. Contractors must use materials and components produced exclusively in the United States, as detailed in the Approved Manufacturers List. The Engineer's estimate for the project is $5.3 million, with a contract duration of 420 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed to achieve Substantial Completion, and an additional 30 calendar days for Final Completion. Liquidated damages are set at $3,813 per calendar day for failure to meet project timelines. The project will be funded through Brevard County Utility Services and requires comprehensive insurance coverage, including general liability, auto liability, workers' compensation, and builders risk insurance. The new infrastructure will connect to the existing BCUD Sykes Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility and involves coordination with multiple utility owners and government agencies, including FDOT and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
Opportunity text
The project consists of the relocation of the existing Lift Station C-17 from the Brevard County-owned parcel to a new 40 ft X 40 ft parcel that is currently under contract. The existing wet well and associated 12-inch gravity sanitary sewer pipes and 12-inch force main will be grouted and abandoned in place. The sanitary sewer flow will be diverted through approximately 470 LF of 12-inch and 16-inch gravity sewer constructed along N. Courtenay Parkway and Catalina Isle Drive to the newly constructed Lift Station C-17. The lift station will pump through a 12-inch force main that will be connected at the intersection of N. Courtenay Parkway and Catalina Isle Drive, and all other incidentals, including demolition, are necessary to complete the work in accordance with the Contract Documents.
