About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Tinker Air Force Base has issued a Special Notice for the F117 Engine Sustainment Support (ESS) Second Industry Day. The event is scheduled for August 5, 2024, from 9am to 3pm, and will be held at the Embassy Suites in Oklahoma City, with a virtual attendance option. The notice provides details about an upcoming procurement opportunity related to F117 engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul services. The industry day will serve as a platform for the Air Force to share critical information with potential contractors about the upcoming solicitation. The event is part of a broader effort to engage industry stakeholders and gather feedback on the proposed contract requirements.
Contractors interested in participating must register by email to Alexandra Crothers and Jessica Roberson by July 26, 2024. The Air Force will post preliminary documents, including the initial Performance Work Statement, Government-Furnished Property lists, and workscopes, by July 23, 2024. The event will feature a morning presentation followed by 20-minute one-on-one sessions with the contracting officer, allowing potential bidders to discuss specific aspects of the opportunity. Key objectives include addressing engine sustainment challenges, with a focus on achieving a Mean Time Between Removal (MTBR) of 5,500 hours and exploring potential improvements to engine performance. The opportunity appears to be a full and open competition, with no specific set-aside for small businesses, though the Air Force is seeking input on small business subcontracting goals. The anticipated timeline suggests a Request for Proposals will be released in April 2025, with a contract award expected in May 2026.
