Supply Chain Management RFI
USAF requests responses from offerors by 4pm CT on Friday 10 Jan 2025.
1. Knowing that any Designated Engineering Representatives (DER) repair will need to have an approval process that is currently being designed by the government prior to starting any repair, what concerns do you have about performed future DER?
2. Would this approval process deter you from using DER? Yes, no, if so, why? What recommendations would you make the approval process more appealing?
3. In the event that data is limited to the government, DER repairs would continue to be authorized by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). What challenges does this present?
4. What concerns do you have about previously performed DER repairs?
5. What percentage growth of DER/Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) do you expect over the life of the contract?
6. What concerns about PMA from a supply chain perspective do you have where it could drive you to use OEM Parts (i.e. limited quantities of PMA, costs savings not enough, etc.)?
7. In reference to the part numbers of all Life Limited Parts as part of the Bidders’ Library, what concerns do you see in sourcing these parts directly?
8. What implications do you foresee if the government does not secure licensing agreement for material?
