About this opportunity
The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) is conducting an Industry Day on 15–16 October 2026 at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, to solicit industry feedback on the upcoming Nuclear Stores Interface Unit (NSIU) production acquisition. Attendance is not mandatory and will not limit industry participation in any resultant solicitation. The NSIU is a Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) providing an electronic interface between aircraft platform and store, designed to meet MIL-STD-1760 requirements and enhance nuclear hardness. AFNWC seeks vendors capable of build-to-print manufacturing to specification and quality standards without hardware installation. The NSIU follows an Engineering, Manufacturing and Development effort awarded in 2022 and due to complete in early 2027.
The Industry Day will feature government briefings on program scope, technical specifications, and acquisition strategy, followed by one-on-one discussion blocks with the program team. Pre-registration is mandatory by 12:00 CDT on Friday, 2 October 2026, via email to the points of contact. Each company may send up to three attendees. Registrants must provide full legal name, U.S. citizenship status, date of birth, Social Security number, driver's license information, and company security contact details via secure means such as DoD SAFE. Personal and company electronic devices are prohibited. The acquisition will execute under the Eglin Wide Agile Acquisition Contract (EWAAC) IDIQ vehicle. Contracting Officer: Caroline Segovia. Contract Specialists: Catherine Sadler and Lexus Ivy.

Industry Day attendance is not mandatory, nor will it limit any member of Industry from participating in any resultant acquisition. The purpose of this announcement is for information and planning purposes only; it does not constitute a solicitation or an RFP nor is it a promise to issue such a solicitation or an RFP in the future.
BACKGROUND:
The NSIU is a follow-on production contract to the current and on-going Engineering, Manufacturing and Development (EMD) effort. The EMD contract was awarded in 2022 and is currently due to complete EMD in 2027.
REQUIREMENT:

GENERAL INFORMATION:
The Industry Day provides AFNWC/NDB an opportunity to communicate directly with interested vendors, outline government requirements and gain insight into the industries’ capabilities. During this industry day we will have briefings and Industry Engagements/One-on-Ones. The intent is to execute an in-person event.
The goal of this Industry Day is to provide potential offerors insight the program office’s expectations for NSIU production and receive feedback from industry on potential courses of action for the production effort which will feed the acquisition strategy put in place by AFNWC/NDB for this effort.
The Government anticipates the release of the solicitation in Q2 FY2027.
The Industry Day is free of charge and open to all businesses, small and large. Members of AFWNC will be present to meet one on one with Industry partners.
