Seed that has become wet, moldy, or otherwise damaged will not be accepted. Seed shall be applied from 1 March to 15 May and from 15 August to 15 October. Temporary seed and mulch will be applied as directed by the COR. Seed mixtures shall be proportional by weight as follows:

Seed Species to Use Between 3/1 and 5/15

Seed Species

Tall Fescue (Rebel, Rebel Jr.)

Perennial Ryegrass (Regal Manhattan)

Weed seed shall not exceed 0.5% by weight of the total mixture. Seed mixture shall be applied at a rate of 5 pounds per 1,000 square feet or approximately 220 pounds per acre.

2.

Wood-Cellulose Fiber. Wood-cellulose fiber (hydro-mulch) shall be thoroughly mixed and applied at the rate of 1,500 pounds per acre to produce a homogeneous slurry.

3.

Fertilizer. A complete fertilizer with a formulation of 10-20-10 or 10-10-10 shall be applied at a rate of 600 pounds per acre. At least 40% of the nitrogen shall be in a slow release form.

4.

Straw Mulch. All areas shall be mulched with an even cover of wheat or oat straw at a rate of two tons per acre. All seeded areas are to be mulched the same day as seeding.

5.

Tacking. The tacking material shall be wood-cellulose fiber applied by means of a hydroseeder at the rate of 500-750 pounds per acre over top of the entire straw mulch surface to prevent the straw from blowing or washing away from the site.
