About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding two seed projects. The first seed project involves lead abatement in the office area and breakroom of a building, but not in the bathroom or mechanical room. All loose and flaking lead paint must be removed rather than encapsulated. The building will be unoccupied during construction. An accurate reflected ceiling plan is unavailable. The contractor may use an on-site dumpster and must dispose of waste at an approved off-base facility. Substantial completion is required within 90 calendar days.
The second seed project also involves an unoccupied building during construction. The performance period for substantial completion is 180 calendar days. Electrical requirements for a future kitchen oven are detailed in the project specifications. Emergency egress doors separating the project area from the secured side of the building must remain operational during construction.
