2.3 ACCESSORIES
A. Patching and Fill Material: Resinous product of or approved by resinous flooring manufacturer and recommended by manufacturer for application indicated.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
A. Verify that substrate is ready to receive work, that subfloor surface is clean, free of substances which could affect bond, and chemically neutral pH.
B. Beginning of installation means acceptance of existing surfaces.
3.2 PROTECTION
A. Protect elements surrounding the work of this Section from damage or disfigurement.
3.3 PREPARATION
A. Remove surface hardware, fittings and fastenings, prior to coating operations. These items are to be carefully stored, cleaned and replaced on completion of work in each area. Do not use solvent to clean hardware that may remove permanent lacquer finish.
B. Resinous Materials: Mix components and prepare materials according to resinous flooring manufacturer's written instructions.
C. Roughen substrates. Shot-blast concrete surfaces with an apparatus that abrades the concrete surface, contains the dispensed shot within the apparatus, and recirculates the shot by vacuum pickup.
D. Apply filler to substrate to achieve smooth surface finish according to resinous flooring manufacturer's written recommendations. Grind irregularities above the surface level.
E. Clean substrate surface free of foreign matter. Remove form laitance, curing compounds, hardeners, sealers, dust, release oils, bond breakers and other contaminants; conform to SSPC-
SP13, ICRI CSP3-5.
F. Ensure required acid-alkali balance is achieved.
G. Treat control joints and other nonmoving substrate cracks to prevent cracks from reflecting through resinous flooring according to manufacturer's written recommendations.
3.4 APPLICATION
A. Apply components of resinous flooring system according to manufacturer's written instructions to produce a uniform, monolithic wearing surface of thickness indicated.
1. Coordinate application of components to provide optimum adhesion of resinous flooring system to substrate, and optimum intercoat adhesion.
