A44- The location in the vicinity of the hangar is part of a closed No Further Action (NFA) environmental restoration cleanup (aka Site #2). The location is the site of a former (now removed) hazwaste storage area and two removed underground petroleum storage tanks. The installation is also currently assessed as a PFOS/PFOA release site where PFAS has tested in the soil and GW at levels exceeding DoD PFAS screening levels and is currently undergoing additional site investigations. The proposed work area could still contain metals, PAH, and PFAS in GW/soil. Ensure property PPE is utilized during subsurface disturbance and any GW/soil is tested and characterized prior to disposal. Additional information is available in the ANG Administrative Record at https://ar.afcec-cloud.af.mil/. As an older building, there is always risk of encountering toxic materials such as asbestos, lead pain, and PCBs. Asbestos-containing materials may be found inside walls or other not visible areas. It should be assumed the toxic materials may be present unless testing or sampling prove otherwise. In the mid- 1990s, the facility was renovated and the known toxic materials were abated but there is no guarantee that the facility is completely clear of toxic materials.
