Solicitation # W50S8E22B0001 Repair and Add to Maintenance Hangar B Complex
Request for Information (RFI) 17-31
Q17- Please provide a site plan showing the separation of work outside of the building footprint (site demolition, earthwork, paving, sanitary, water, etc.) in regards to the two contracts, WKVB122004 &
WKVB139002.
A17 – All sitework associated with the project should be bid under contract WKVB122004 “Repair”. No sitework should be accounted for under contract WKVB139002 “Add To”.
Q18 - G=-001-F underground fuel tank fuel tank shown in drawings-Is this active? Has the tank and or surrounding soil been inspected?
A18 – The fuel tank is not active. The soil surrounding the tank has not been inspected or tested. The tank will remain existing and in-place. There is no work associated with the tank in the contract scope.
Q19- A-432 TA 13 callout for soap dispenser Are we to assume there are two A 13 soap dispensers being installed at sinks in "Clean Locker Room #132"?
A19 – Provide soap dispenser in Clean Locker room #132 that is similar to soap dispenser shown in elevation 5/A-432. There will be one soap dispenser in dirty locker room #130 and one soap dispenser in clean locker room #132
Q20 - A-432 Unisex toilet no ADA Does this toilet need to meet ADA standards?
A20 – This toilet will not be required to meet ADA standard.
Q21- A431 TA-06 Bobrick B-3706-25 Are you sure this is the right callout? This is a coin vendor operated dispenser. Do you need one installed in the unisex bathroom?
A21 - The TA -06 is not required for this project. You can eliminate it from the scope
Q22- E-001 gen notes 3rd party testing Please advise if there is a 3rd party NETA testing required for this project
A22 – There is no General Note on E-001 regarding testing. NETA testing and 3rd party testing required as noted in the individual Division 26 specification sections.
Q23- E-603 MDP-2 Is this panel new? There is a dashed line around it on 603 but it is in the panel schedule. Please advise.
A23 – MDP-2 is a new distribution board.
Q24- A-741 116D/126A /129A missing note on material 116D-This door is in a demountable partition-
- Is there any callout other than HM that we would need to know about? Are 126A & 129A standard HM or do they require another material?
A24 – 116D as noted is part of demountable partition and shall be provided by manufacturer. 126A will be door that is provided by paint booth manuf. Door 129A will be door provided by air shower manuf.
Q25- Is this project NY sales tax exempt?
A25 – Check with your accounting as the Department of Defense will not be providing an exemption to NY Sales tax.
Q26- Please provide contact information for the controls contractor for the existing hangar building.
A26 – Base to provide the contact information for the controls contractor.
Q27- Dwg A701 shows polished concrete in multiple locations however no specification has been provided. Please provide specification for polished concrete.
A27 – Refer to specification 03 30 00 CAST-IN-PLACE CONCRETE for information regarding concrete floor hardener and see Remarks Key on drawing A-701 regarding polished concrete requirements.
Q28- Spec section 13 34 19 Metal building systems does not call out a basis of design or specify preferred building manufacturers. Please clarify.
A28 – Provide product that meets requirements of the specification.
Q29- M-711 Note #1 states “New DDC controls shall be fully integrated with the existing Trane building monitoring and control system” for this project. Does this mean only Trane is the only acceptable BMS vendor? Please clarify.
A29 – No. New controls must be compatible with existing Trane BMS.
Q30- Please provide a spec section for the lockers.
A30 – Specification 10 51 13 will be added to project in an addendum and has been attached for reference. Please note that lockers are to be mounted on 4” concrete pad. Concrete pad to be included by all bidders.
Q31- Please provide the tax status of this project.
A31 – You need to re-read FAR Clause 52.229-3, Federal, State, and Local Taxes within the solicitation.
*Please note that paragraph 1.2 of specification 01 31 23.13 20 will be updated to say, “The Contractor will be required to gain access to the selected electronic construction management system through the identified vendor.” The Contractor is required to buy or acquire their own license and access.
