About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) and Government Responses document for federal contract W50S74-26-Q-A021, dated 2 September 2026. The solicitation involves door and storefront replacement work at Buildings 2271, 2272, and 2273, structured under three Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs): CLIN 0001 for Building 2271, CLIN 0002 for Building 2272, and CLIN 0003 for Building 2273. The scope requires demolition of 20 aluminum storefront doors, frames, glass, and hollow metal doors, with provision of 14 replacement aluminum storefront entrances. The project includes use of Restroom Building 2279 for contractor personnel during construction hours.

Key clarifications provided by the Government address specification and drawing discrepancies. The hardware specification (Section 08710) previously referenced Buildings 2270 and 2276; the Government confirmed these were carryover references from a prior project and issued a revised Hardware Specification and corrected Door Schedule in an Amendment. The Government clarified that door hardware Groups 01–04 apply to the corresponding openings in Buildings 2271, 2272, and 2273 as shown on drawings and the SOW opening schedule. For Door 72-1, which requires conversion from a pair to a single door, the contractor must provide a storefront entrance with appropriate infill framing, glazing, patching, and finishing. At paired openings (such as 71-3 and 71-3.1), the contractor must replace both the exterior and interior storefront/door assemblies. The Government indicated that permits (Burn Permit through the 452 Fire Department and Dig Permit through 163 CES) are the Government's responsibility, with a response of "NA" to contractor responsibility. The eight drawing sheets dated 8 July 2026, supplemented by the added Door Schedule, constitute the complete drawing set for bidding.

RFI and Responses

W50S74-26-Q-A021

2 September 2026

1. Permits: The project information identifies a Burn Permit through the 452 Fire Department and a Dig Permit through 163 CES. Please confirm whether the contractor is responsible for obtaining/processing these permits, or whether the Government coordinates the permit process.

A. NA

2. Crew facilities: Please confirm whether existing restroom/hand washing facilities will be available for contractor personnel during normal construction hours, or whether the contractor should provide temporary facilities.

A. Use Restroom Building 2279 as shown on Area Plan

3. Drawing completeness: Please confirm whether the eight drawing sheets dated 8

July 2026 constitute the complete drawing set for bidding. If any additional door schedules, enlarged plans/details, opening dimensions, or other bid drawings exist, please advise where they may be obtained.

A. Drawings are complete. Door Schedule added. No existing drawings.

4. Door positions / scope: The SOW §1.2 lists rounded opening quantities totaling 14 openings, while the drawings mark additional door positions with the “REPLACE” designation. Please confirm which of the following positions are included in each

CLIN:

• Building 2271 / CLIN 0001: 71-1, 71-2, 71-2.1, 71-3, 71-3.1, 71-4, 71-4.1, 71-5, 71-6

• Building 2272 / CLIN 0002: 72-1, 72-1.1, 72-2, 72-2.1, 72-3, 72-3.1, 72-4, 72-4.1, 72-5, 72-5.1

• Building 2273 / CLIN 0003: 73-1, 73-1.1, 73-2, 73-2.1

Demo (20) aluminum storefront doors, frames, and glass, and hollow metal doors.

Provide (14) aluminum storefront entrances.

Replace is Demo and Provide.

5. The hardware specification (Section 08710, Schedule of Finish Hardware) assigns Hardware Groups 01 through 04 to door marks in buildings 2270 and 2276, for example 2270-1A, 2270-01B, 2276-4A. The Statement of Work scope, the CLIN structure, and the opening schedule all cover buildings 2271, 2272, and 2273. The hardware sets do not reference any 2271, 2272, or 2273 door marks.

Please confirm that Hardware Groups 01 through 04 in Section 08710 apply to the corresponding openings in buildings 2271, 2272, and 2273 as shown on the drawings and in the SOW opening schedule, and that the 2270 and 2276 marks are carryover references from a prior project. If the intended hardware assignments differ, please provide the correct door-to-hardware-set mapping for the three in-scope buildings.

Confirming this lets us price each opening to the correct hardware group rather than bidding the discrepancy per 08710 1.3.D.

A. Bad spec

6. Hardware schedule: Section 08710’s Schedule of Finish Hardware references door numbers such as 2270-1A, 2270-2A, 2270-3A and 2276-4A/4B, which do not correspond to the 71-, 72-, and 73-series door tags shown on the project drawings for Buildings 2271, 2272 and 2273. Please provide the applicable hardware-group assignment for each replacement door/opening in this project, or issue a corrected hardware schedule.

A. Door Schedule and Revised Hardware Spec added

7. Door 72-1: The Building 2272 drawing notes “REPLACE PAIR W/ SINGLE” at Door 72-

1. Please clarify the required construction for the remaining opening, including any infill framing, glazing/storefront, patching, and finish requirements necessary to convert the existing pair to a single door.

A. Provide Storefront Entrance. See SOW New Entrances added

8. Door Hardware – Section 08710

Section 08710 provides the door hardware requirements; however, we were unable to locate a Government-provided door-by-door hardware schedule identifying the specific hardware set required for each opening.

Question: Please confirm whether a Government-provided door-by-door hardware schedule is available, or whether the contractor is responsible for developing the required hardware sets based on Section 08710 and the drawings.

A. Door Schedule provided in Amendment

9. Interior and Exterior Storefront Openings – Attachment 0002, Drawings The drawings identify paired openings, including 71-3 and 71-3.1, as well as similar paired interior/exterior openings at other locations.

Question: Please confirm whether both the exterior and interior storefront/door assemblies at each paired location are required to be replaced, or only those storefront/door openings specifically included in the Statement of Work quantities.

Thank you for your clarification.

New Storefront Entrances

A. Entrance is storefront opening including doors. See revised SOW for clarity
