About this file

This document is a collection of specification sections for a federal construction contract to replace exterior doors and associated systems at multiple buildings (2270, 2271, 2272, 2273, and 2276) at March Air Reserve Base for the Air National Guard.

The project requires installation of aluminum doors, frames, storefront systems, hardware, glass/glazing, and ceramic tile finishes. The primary products specified include Arcadia WS512 HD Series heavy-duty wide stile aluminum entrance doors (1-3/4" thick) and Arcadia AFG601 Series aluminum storefront framing (2" x 6" non-thermal, 1" glass capacity). Door hardware must be supplied by approved manufacturers including Ives (continuous hinges), Von Duprin (exit devices), LCN (closers), Schlage (locks), and NGP (seals/thresholds). Exterior glazing must consist of laminated low-E insulating glass units with 0.030-inch minimum interlayer thickness meeting blast resistance standards per UFC 4-010-01, while interior non-rated areas use 1/4" clear tempered glass. All aluminum components require Colornodic AB6 Dark Bronze anodic finish. The ceramic tile installation utilizes full cement mortar setting beds for floors and thin-set latex-Portland cement mortar for walls, with grout color as indicated on drawings. Hardware submittals require a certified Architectural Hardware Consultant review and must include comprehensive scheduling organized by hardware sets. Material submittals are due NTP+30 days for architectural items with government approval required, and closeout documentation is due at project completion. A two-year warranty is required on doors, storefront systems, and hardware, with extended warranties on specific items (seven years for extra heavy-duty locks, ten years for closers).
