About this file
This document is a Data Item Description (DID) for a Safety Assessment Report (SAR) related to the LASSO (Low Altitude Stalking and Striking Ordnance) system. The SAR is a detailed document that evaluates safety risks prior to testing or operation, documenting potential hazards and required controls. The report must be submitted 2 months before the Test Readiness Review (TRR) and 30 days before any test requiring the SAR, with the government having 15 business days to review and respond.
The SAR must be prepared in a vendor-approved format compatible with Microsoft Office 2016 and include specific sections such as introduction, system description, purpose, development summary, component details, system operations, safety engineering, hazard conditions, and recommendations. The document is subject to export control restrictions and must contain Distribution Statement D, limiting distribution to the Department of Defense and U.S. DoD Vendors. If toxic or hazardous materials are used, the vendor must also provide technical information for a Hazardous Waste Profile Sheet.
