About this file

This document is a revision to Appendix O of the MBTA RFP 225-24 for Commuter Ferry Service (COMMBUYS Bid#24-1206-MBTA-MBTA-108240), specifically addressing safety requirement changes and clarifications. The revisions primarily focus on updating safety certification requirements, reporting procedures, and notification protocols between the Service Provider and MBTA departments, particularly MBTA Safety and Ferry Operations.

The document outlines specific reporting deadlines and requirements, including initial incident reports within one hour, preliminary reports within 24 hours, and final incident reports within 30 days. Key changes include mandatory safety certification for operator-supplied vessels, drug and alcohol policy review requirements, and expanded incident reporting details. The document also clarifies that MBTA Safety must be included in various approval processes, emergency notifications, and safety review meetings, correcting previous language that only referenced Ferry Operations or "the Authority."
