About this file
This document is a Route-Specific Technical Specification for the MBTA Water Transportation Services Appendix 3, which outlines the scope of work for the Route F3: East Boston Ferry. The Service Provider is required to operate the ferry service between Lewis Mall Wharf in East Boston and Boston Long Wharf, with a defined passenger service schedule, vessel requirements, and maintenance responsibilities. The service is to be operated approximately from April 1 to November 30 annually, with specific start and end dates to be determined by the MBTA. The Service Provider must provide a minimum of one vessel with a capacity of 49 passengers, as well as a backup vessel of the same capacity, to meet the scheduled service requirements. The MBTA will provide the docking facilities at Lewis Mall Wharf, while the Service Provider must obtain rights to use a docking facility in Boston between the northern face of Central Wharf and the northern limit of Christopher Columbus Park.
Regarding pricing and compensation, the document refers to the General Technical Specification, which likely outlines the relevant terms. The contract does not appear to have any set-asides or incumbent information provided. The funding sources and requirements are not explicitly stated, but the MBTA is the agency responsible for the water transportation services.
