Medical Center, Brockton, Massachusetts as required by drawings and specifications.
1. The Contractor shall develop and present to, VHA BHS Engineering, for review and approval, a written Construction Phasing Plan (CPP) that identifies all required information to accomplish the intended work of the construction sequencing. The building 3 MRI Emergency
Generator must be available to always provide emergency power to the
MRI equipment (24/7/365) without interruption. The work must be planned so that the building 3 MRI Emergency Generator is uninterrupted, or the contractor must provide a separate temporary emergency power system to provide emergency power to the MRI equipment. The temporary emergency power system must be equivalent to the existing MRI Emergency Generator to provide the necessary capacity. The CPP shall indicate phasing sequence, length of intended phases and shutdowns and clearly define all systems and spaces that are affected. The contractor shall not be permitted to commence construction activities until all submittals identified within the drawings and specifications have been submitted and are approved by the Government. Only after all submittals are approved may the Contractor then submit an official written request to start construction activities at a minimum of 90 days in advance of the requested start date.
2. Information on existing conditions and associated design intent for the Work described in the contract documents is based on non-destructive and visual site observations of areas accessible in an occupied structure. Drawings are diagrammatic. They indicate general arrangements of each portion of the Work. They do not show exact arrangements and configurations required, nor do they show the exact routings, physical locations, or alignments necessary for coordination with existing conditions and other portions of the
Work. Contractor shall coordinate modifications in layout as necessary to complete the Work in accordance with the design intent.
In some instances, it may have been impracticable to detail all the items described in the contract documents because of variances in the means and methods of achieving the necessary results. In such instances, at no additional cost or time to the Government, the

Work conducted in occupied areas, work that will create medical center interruptions, work that will create utility shutdowns/disruptions, work that will create noise & vibrations is designated as after-hours. Any after-hours work shall be scheduled in writing by the Contractor using the facility standard request form. Specific special work hours for individual projects shall be as follows for coordinating shutdowns and after-hours work.
