About this file
This is a Scope of Work document from the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) for RFP 250087 detailing printing, production, and installation of replacement panels for transit center kiosks. OCTA operates a countywide bus system with fifty-nine routes and manages major transfer points with bus and rail transit centers. The project involves updating and repairing triangular information kiosks installed approximately fifteen years ago at five bus locations containing nine total kiosks and nine rail stations containing twelve total kiosks. The selected firm must provide panel printing, installation, and removal services on an as-needed basis throughout Orange County. Two panel sizes are required: 36 inches wide by 48 inches high for bus center kiosks and 31.5 inches wide by 60 inches high for Metrolink station kiosks. RFP 250087
EXHIBIT A
SCOPE OF WORK
TRANSIT CENTER SIGNAGE
BACKGROUND
The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) was formed in June 1991 to address ongoing transportation needs in Orange County. The concept behind OCTA was to create one (1) agency to develop and implement transportation programs designed to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality. OCTA’s countywide bus system operates fifty-nine (59) routes, including local fixed routes, community routes, intra and intercounty express and Stationlink Metrolink rail feeder service. Throughout the county, there are major transfer points which are serviced by bus and rail transit centers offering amenities such as informational kiosks.
Each of these bus and rail transit centers have existing triangular kiosks which display pertinent customer information. These kiosks were installed nearly fifteen (15) years ago. The information contained on these displays require updating to reflect current information, and to repair damaged panels.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Firm shall provide printing and installation replacement panels on each of the kiosks located at bus and rail transit centers on an as-needed basis. There are five (5) bus locations with a total of nine (9) kiosks (see below for sample) and nine (9) rail stations with a total of twelve (12) kiosks. Due to weather concerns as these displays are exposed to the elements, all materials shall be ultraviolet (UV)- resistant, weather and graffiti-proof. Firm shall also remove existing panels and replace with new panels at various locations throughout the County on an as-needed basis.
Specifications for the panels are:
• There are two (2) different panel sizes:
- Bus Center Kiosk panel size is 36" wide x 48" high
- Metrolink Station Kiosk panel size is 31.5" wide x 60" high
• Panel material is made of 0.04 thick cold-rolled steel with a Paint Lock zinc coating. There are two (2) coats of powder coating on each panel for additional protection. Holes shall be drilled to match existing locations.
• Image is digitally rendered and submersed into the powder coating. The image shall be UV, graffiti, impact and scratch resistant.
• Panel edges, holes, and backside are all powder-coated.
OCTA’s Marketing Department shall assign a project manager and primary contact for Firm. Firm shall be responsible for responding to the project manager’s requests for services within forty-eight (48)-hours.
