D.1 PACKAGING, HANDLING, STORAGE, AND TRANSPORTATION
The Contractor must provide all Packaging, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T) requirements in accordance with (IAW) American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM)-D3951-18, Standard Practice for Commercial Packaging, and MIL-STD-129R with Change 1, Military Marking for Shipment and Storage.
Preservation/Packaging, Packing, and Marking:
A. All fabricated racks/mod kits/site kits/rack subassemblies, unless otherwise specified, must be individually packaged IAW ASTM-D3951-18, Standard Practices for Commercial Packaging. If it is shown that commercial packaging practices cannot provide adequate protection and preservation, MIL-STD-2073-1E with Change-3, Standard Practice for Military Packaging, is applied to meet known distribution and environmental requirements.
B. Fabricated racks must be marked according to the drawings in Attachment J1 and contain the following:
Contract Number
National Stock Number
C. A label must be affixed to each fabricated rack, mod kits, site kits, and rack subassembly shipping container that includes the following:
National Stock Number (NSN)
Quantity and Unit of Issue
Contract Number
D. Fabricated racks, mod kits, site kits, and rack subassemblies received noncompliant with preservation and packaging are subject to be returned at no cost to the Government. In the event of an urgent need, the Government may exercise the following action: The noncompliant packaged item(s) will be retained and repackaged to specification at the Government’s location.
The Government will deduct repackaging charges.

D.2 BARCODE ASSET TRACKING SYSTEM
Each equipment item delivered to the FAA must have a barcode identifying the item in accordance with Sections C.5.1.2 and C.7.1 of this contract.
