This document contains specification sections for construction work related to the P-683 Engine Repair Facility (Contract 1817922), revised by Amendment 0006. The document covers four primary sections addressing different construction components and systems.
Section 07 42 13.23 specifies Metal Composite Material (MCM) wall panels for a drained and back-ventilated rainscreen system with dry-seal panel joints, except wet-seal joints at roof fascia conditions. The MCM panels must feature an extruded thermoplastic core with aluminum face sheets (0.02 inch thickness, AA3000 or AA5000 series), 0.157 inch panel thickness, and 2-inch panel depth. The system must be 100 percent free of fasteners on panel faces and perimeters, utilizing color-matched splines with Kynar/PvDF paint. Panels must meet structural performance requirements per ASTM E330/E330M, air infiltration limits of 0.3 L/s per square meter per ASTM E283, water penetration testing per ASTM E331, and NFPA 285 fire propagation testing. The manufacturer must have minimum 10 years' experience; the installer requires minimum 5 years' experience. A 10-year warranty on panel integrity and 20-year warranty on finish coating performance are required. Detailed shop drawings, product data, samples, test reports, and warranties require government approval.
Section 08 14 00 addresses Wood Doors, requiring staved lumber core Type II flush doors conforming to ANSI/WDMA I.S.1A with premium grade white maple faces, plain sliced slip matched veneers, and minimum 45 percent recycled content door cores. Doors must be free of urea-formaldehyde resins and certified to 40 CFR 770 and CARB 93120 standards. Acoustical doors must achieve specified Sound Transmission Class ratings per ASTM E90. Fire doors must conform to UL 10B, ASTM E2226, or NFPA 252 with appropriate labeling. Factory finishes must meet NAAWS 4.0 Section 1500 specifications with premium medium rubbed sheen. Section 08 34 73 specifies Sound Control Door Assemblies requiring single-source manufacturing with minimum five years' experience, compliance with ADA/ABA accessibility guidelines, Category A or B positive pressure fire door construction, and STC ratings tested per ASTM E90 and ASTM E413. Sound retardant doors must be fabricated from hollow metal or wood with integrated sealing systems, intumescent seals, automatic door bottoms, thresholds, and astragals. A five-year manufacturer's warranty covering material and workmanship is required.
Section 10 81 13 specifies Bird Control Devices using Type 316 stainless steel wire mesh barriers with 18-gauge (0.047 inch) diameter wire in 1.2-inch square mesh configuration, supplied in 4-foot by 100-foot rolls (400 square feet, 130 pounds). Hardware must include aircraft-grade stainless steel mesh cable, stainless steel turnbuckles, ferrules, eyebolts, angle brackets, cable clamps, J-clamps, and wire rope clamps. The installer must be an authorized manufacturer representative; the manufacturer must have demonstrated capability to design and fabricate systems preventing bird access without overstressing structural members.
