Pre-expended bin supplies and materials will not be included in the list of materials since the cost for these items were included in the labor hour unit price bid. | A733 | Shrub Pruning |
available on DoD FedMall Shrubs shall be pruned so as to reduce the size and growth rate of each shrub. Evenly form and balance the shrub in order to shape it according to its natural growth characteristics leaving them well shaped and balanced and to promote proper health and growth. Remove dead, damaged or diseased growth. If the entire shrub is dead, remove the entire plant 6 inches below ground level. The hole and other surface damage caused by removal shall be filled with topsoil, leveled, raked and replanted with the same type of vegetation as the surrounding area. Remove vines, tree sprouts or other extraneous vegetative growth from under or on the shrubbery. Prune or remove growth in front of windows or over entrance ways. All pruned vegetation shall be removed from the worksite and disposed of the same day at the landfill. The Contracting Officer may elect to require some or all vegetation be run through a chipper and the resulting material deposited at stockpile site.

available on DoD FedMall Trees, including banyon trees, shall be pruned according to their growth characteristics, to evenly form and balance the tree, to promote proper health and growth. Tree pruning shall shape the tree rather than notch the top, remove dead, damaged or diseased wood or structurally weak limbs that may cause a safety hazard or unsightly appearance, including removal of dead palm tree fronds. Tree pruning shall remove branches that extend over buildings and endanger roofs, eaves and windows. Limbs pruned over 3” diameter shall be treated with lime wash to prevent insect infestation, rot or detrimental bleeding. All pruned vegetation removed from the worksite shall be disposed of the same day at the landfill.
