About this file

This document is a comprehensive Work Item Specification for USS Lewis B Puller (ESB 3), detailing eight specific work items to be performed during the ship's maintenance availability. The work items include: replacing flight deck isolation valves, cleaning deck drain and piping, preserving bulkheads, preserving Commercial Broadband Satellite Program port cable pipe, replacing overhead panels, replacing locker latches, preserving A8 level pipes, and providing a project team office space.

Each work item contains detailed technical requirements, specific locations on the ship, quantities of materials/components to be addressed, and precise instructions for inspection, preparation, preservation, replacement, and documentation. The specification provides comprehensive guidance for contractors, including requirements for visual inspections, operational tests, surface preservation, equipment installation, and maintenance of facilities. The document is part of the Navy's FY-25 standard items and includes specific references to standard items, arrangement diagrams, and preservation guidelines, with most work items dated for implementation in September 2023.
