Reinforcing Steel

This sections requires the reinfocement to be galvaized after it has been fabricated. One of our suppliers has requested the use of Galvabar, ASTM A1094. The bars are galvanized before fabricatiown.

SCDOT has accepted ASTM A1094 as an alternative to ASTM A767. The fabricator has more control over the order since everything is kept in house. Their experence is they lose control of the order once it it shipped to the galvaizer.

Per 2.7.1 of 03 31 30, the reinforcing selected shall match the structural properties of the reinforcing specified. Please bid per RFP

**Please note that this PPI was previously given a response in AMD 0004. However the response in AMD 0004 was not correct and was intended to be for a different PPI. Please consider this response to be correct and up to date.
