“Switchgear”: Requires Arc-resistant
Type 2B construction. Please note, that
Carter Machinery and their switchgear supplier, ITAC, who manufactured the existing paralleling switchgear line-up and controls, must take exception to the
Arc-resistant 2B construction and provide only as standard metal clad MV construction. Arc-resistant 2B construction is an antiquated requirement that is discontinued and no longer manufactured. None of the existing MV switchgear structures that have been in service for many years are arc resistant construction. Please confirm that an exception to the arc-resistant 2B construction is acceptable.
If not acceptable, Carter
Machinery/ITAC will be forced to no-bid this portion of the project.
Exception to the arc-resistant 2B construction is acceptable. Type 1B construction is acceptable.

“SOUND LIMITATIONS”: Because the generator enclosure will be custom made, specific sound levels at the listed octave frequency bands will not be available. Custom generator enclosures are standardized at an overall sound level at 7m (23 feet). Our enclosure manufacturer partner has indicated that we can obtain a 72dB(A) at 23 feet sound level while providing proper cooling air flow required for the generator set. Please confirm that this is acceptable.
Sound level of 72dB (A) at 23 feet is acceptable.

Plan sheet IN601 has AWP6 shown in
Room 275. On plan sheet AE801, keynote 25 shows it as AWP4. Confirm the correct acoustic wall panel type for
Room 275.
AE801, key note 25 that refers to
AWP4 should refer to AWP6. IN401 shows the actual AWP1-AWP5 layout and elevations.
58 EP701
Key Note 1: Indicates that “vertical intake and exhaust” is required. Please confirm the intent of this requirement.
All exhaust air will be ducted vertical as standard. Is the intent for the intake air to all be obtained through vertical means only or is horizontal air intake acceptable? In discussions with the custom enclosure manufacturer, if all air is required to be obtained vertically only, this will increase the footprint of the enclosure because the velocity of the intake air must be slowed significantly to limit any intake rain, snow, and/or ice.
Horizontal intake is acceptable.
