Under paragraph 1.4.d (3), add the following item:
“1.4.d (4) Contractor must not stage or utilize Berths 40 & 41 for any work involved with this project. Due to laydown requirements of concurrent projects (see RELATED PROJECTS below), the Contractor must utilize the P678 Dry Dock 8 Saltwater System laydown areas as indicated or as designated by the Contracting Officer.”
After subparagraph 1.4.e add the following items:
“f. A ship will be drydocked at Dry Dock 8 until the end of November 2022. The Contractor is not authorized to start onsite demolition or construction work before 16 January 2023.
g. The Contractor must coordinate the work of this project with the projects listed under paragraph RELATED PROJECTS below.
h. Coordinate construction of the temporary Pumpwell 8 suction culvert plugs to occur prior to Caisson 8 (See RELATED PROJECTS below - Special Project RM 19-0182 NNSY Caisson 8 Install Flood Through Valves) being removed from Government property for renovations. Anticipated Caisson 8 removal is November 2023. Anticipated Caisson 8 return is July 2024.
i. The Government will flood the dry dock to flip the Caisson for retrofit work on “Side B” no earlier than 1 May 2023 and no later than 5 June 2023. The dock will be dry until this time, and temporary suction culvert plug work may proceed prior to “Side B” retrofit.
j. After the Caisson is flipped to “Side “B”, the Caisson 8 Contractor will dewater Dry Dock 8 so Caisson in-dock work can proceed, no later than 1 July 2023.
k. The Government will flood the dock for the Caisson to be removed and transported to a shipyard for remaining modifications, no later than 13 November 2023. The dock will be flooded until the Caisson returns, no later than 17 July 2024. The Pumpwell 8 Main Dewatering Pump work and Drainage pumps DP-1, DP-2 and DP-3 work shall complete by 17 July 2024.
k. Once the Caisson is returned and seated in the dry dock, the P678 Contractor will be required to dewater the dock utilizing temporary pumps in order to remove the temporary suction plugs.
l. The reconstruction of the Berth 41 dewatering flume by Project RM22-0455 Repair Berths 40 and 41 (See RELATED PROJECTS below) will complete by 30 June 2024 such that the dewatering flume can be utilized for testing of the Main Dewatering pumps of this project and the Caisson 8 Flood Through Valves. The Beneficial Occupancy date (BOD) for Project RM22-0455 Repair Berths 40 and 41 BOD is anticipated no later than 23 August 2024.
m. Once the suction culvert plugs are removed, the Government will flood the dock for the Main Dewatering Pumps to be tested. Once these tests are completed, approved by the Contracting Officer and the pumps are accepted by the Government, the Government will operate the Main Dewatering Pumps so that certification testing of the Caisson 8 Flood Through Valves can begin. There will be two complete dewaterings required for the Caisson 8 certification testing.
n. Coordinate the North and South Flooding flume work with the project, RM22-0455 Repair Berths 40 and 41(See RELATED PROJECTS below). The North and South flooding flume work shall not commence until Beneficial Occupancy of Berth 40 and Berth 41 are achieved.
