About this file
This document outlines security requirements and access procedures for contractors working at Submarine Base New London. Contractors must be sponsored by a trusted agent and provide notice at least two days in advance of any visit. On the first day, contractors report to the Visitor Control Center to fill out form SECNAV 5512-1 and present valid photo ID such as a driver's license or passport. Background checks are conducted and DBIDS credentials issued, valid up to one year. Long term credentials require additional employer and contract information. Only U.S. citizens are admitted without prior approval. Access is restricted to normal work hours, and work outside these hours requires advance permission. No contraband is permitted and vehicles must be properly registered and insured, parking in designated areas only. Deliveries are the contractor's responsibility between 6:30 AM and 1:30 PM on weekdays only.
