REQUEST FOR SPECIFICATION CLARIFICATION

TITLE: AMENDMENT OF SOLICITATION/MODIFICATION OF CONTRACT # 002
QUESTION:
Request a 3 Week Extension on Bid Submittal.
REASONS: Due to just receiving Amendment 002, subcontractors and vendors are requesting time for pricing and ship inspections, also subcontractor is requsting data for name plate for each Vane Axial Fans M1 thru M8 listed in Work Item 511 which can only be accomplished by ship check. New work item 310 will require a ship inspection to accomplish the work for this item listed in para.2.2 before start of work.
ANSWER:
The USNS MATTHEW PERRY is presently berthed at BAE Systems San Francisco Ship Repair. The name plate data on the vane axial fans on the USNS MATTHEW PERRY should be of sufficient nature for quotational purposes. Vendors are advised to do the best they can developing proposals and shortfalls will be addressed during discussions.
Vendors desiring a ship check should liaison with BAE Systems San Francisco Ship Repair for facility access and submit the required EPIC requests to MSC for ship access.
Vendors should bid as best as they can. No bid submittal extensions are granted and no future extension requests will be considered.
