7.0 STATEMENT Of WORK REQUIRED:
7.1 Arrangements/Outfitting: None
7.2 Structural:
7.2.1 Removals:
a. Using Reference 2.4 as guidance, remove deck covering (PRC) from inside drain coaming area.
7.2.2 Installations:
a. Install twenty four inch (24”) deck coaming using ASTM A36 ¼” steel between bulkheads in the starboard side passage outside the ENGR DEPT TECH LIBRARY (1-495-1-Q). Use ASTM A36 ¼” steel plate and caulking to create a watertight barrier along the ENGR DEPT TECH LIBRARY (1-495-1-Q) outboard joiner bulkhead. Coaming should isolate the tank vent terminal and deck drain from the rest of the passage. Use Reference 2.4 for guidance.
b. Remove old deck covering and install new PRC decking material in the vicinity of the modified tank vents
7.3 Mechanical:
7.3.1 Removals:
a. Remove Tank Vent Terminals on 01 Level and plug deck penetrations to ensure an air tight seal to preserve CPS zone integrity. Use Reference 2.4 for guidance.
b. Remove tank vent piping at main deck level. Plug deck penetration only on portside main deck level from tank vent pipe removal, starboard side deck penetration will be used later for deck drain installation. Use Reference 2.4 for guidance.
c. Partially remove tank vent piping on the second deck level. On portside, remove tank vent piping after bulkhead penetration from ENGINEERING STOREROOM (2-488-4-A) leaving approximately 12 inches of pipe protruding from bulkhead. On starboard side, remove piping after bulkhead penetration from ADP ROOM (2-500-3-Q). Use Reference 2.4 for guidance.
7.3.2 Installations:
a. Install new tank vents in locations specified by Reference 2.4. Starboard side, install tank vent terminal in MAIN DECK level passage outside ENGR DEPT TECH LIBRARY (1-495-1-Q). Ensure that the tank vent terminal is four inches (4”) above coaming level. Portside, install and route tank vent piping from bulkhead penetration down towards deck. Ensure that the tank vent terminal is four inches (4”) above the funnel top assembled in 7.3.2.c. Use Reference 2.4 for guidance.
b. Install new deck drain at the starboard side tank vent previous location, using the existing deck penetration. Route four inch (4”) waste drain piping from deck drain installed to connect with existing waste drain piping 4WD01-788 using a weldolet connection. Use Reference 2.4 for guidance.
c. Assemble ten inch (10”) to five inch (5”) drain funnel in PASSAGE 2-471-2-L. Route four inch (4”) waste drain piping down to the 1ST platform level, through bulkhead 510, and connect to 4WD01-780 in MMR2 (7-510-01-E) using y-branch connection. Use Reference 2.4 for guidance.
