1 INTRODUCTION 60

MISSION 1.161

The Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group (MCTOG) mission is to provide standardized 62 advanced training and certification to Ground Combat Element (GCE) Operations Officers, 63 Operations Chiefs, and select other GCE training specialists in GCE operations, combined arms 64 planning and integration, and unit readiness planning at the company, battalion, and regiment 65 levels to support GCE Training and Readiness (T&R) events. MCTOG provides advanced 66 collective training to company through regiment battle staffs by executing the Battle Staff 67 Training Program (BSTP). MCTOG serves as the proponent lead to develop specified GCE 68 publications, ensures GCE doctrine is nested and consistent both horizontally and vertically 69 within the Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) construct, and ensures GCE doctrine and 70 individual and collective training and readiness (T&R) events are mutually supporting in order to 71 enhance the combat readiness of GCE units. Finally, MCTOG is the institutional caretaker of the 72 Operations and Tactics Training Program (OTTP). 73
