(U) CTM Future Capabilities Summary
Ricardo L Parks, MDA/ESP CTM Lead
Missile Defense Agency
Area DE/S Model Requirement Title Description
Lethality KIDD Add DPICM Capability
Develop and implement debris from FPICM warhead engagements. Anchor resulting models to legacy DPICM sled test data
Lethality KIDD Add IDF and TDF Fast Run
Parameters
Add Fast Run parameters to IDF and TDF.
Preserve backup compatibility with previous versions
Lethality PEELS High fidelity KV geometry w/ FIP calculation
Develop first impact point and provide detailed component interactions for post-intercept debris analysis.
Lethality PEELS PEELSRT Develop an optimized run option to address running within real time frameworks
(U) CTM Future Capabilities
Signatures OSC Transmissive/translucent materials Develop the ability to address the thermal response of different material.
Signatures OSC Parallel processing Develop faster runtime for OSC.
Signatures OPTISIG BRDF modeling Develop the capability to better mirror the way threat inputs are represented in OSC
Signatures OPTISIG Language modernization
This would cover dynamic memory allocation and will also lead to a common DIPREF code base for OSC and OPTISIG
Signatures OPTISIG Shape Input
Expand the coverage of OPTISIG to address emerging requirements. Current computer processing speeds would support levels of fidelity that were outside the read of
OPTISIG in the past.
Environments CEM Modularization of Models
Breaking up the current, monolithic OSF
Common Environment Module (CEM) into individual component modules that correspond to the Environment Effects identified in the CTM Taxonomy and SRDs.
Environments CEM Verification and Validation
Verifying that CEM Environment State and
Effects modules produce the same results as those produced by their counterparts in the current, monolithic CEM
Validating CEM Environment State and
Effects models by comparing them against measurement data
Environments CEM Algorithm Development
Adapting and/or modifying existing CEM
Environment State and Effects models or creating new ones to replace current such models that have been found to be insufficient to meet MDA’s modeling and simulation needs
