Q 143. In the Green Federal Building we are anticipating to remove the existing roof and the lightweight insulating concrete material during normal working hours. Will this be acceptable?

R143 Yes, this is acceptable.

Q 144.

Will we be allowed to use the loading dock area to set-up a crane to lift roofing material on Saturdays and Sundays?

R 144. This approach is not preferable, but yes if scheduled in advance with the property management this could be permitted. However, the majority of the loading dock is above the basement, not above grade, and there are loading capacities that must be verified before craning.

Q 145. Please confirm that on the Green Building that the roof within cooling tower area is to be replaced as part of the Base Bid. Also, please confirm that the Bid Option, “Liquid Applied Organic Coating on Existing Roof” for the Green Building penthouse roofs is part of Unit Price No. 1 on the Bid Proposal Form.

R 145. Yes, the roof within the cooling tower area is part of the base bid roof replacement. The roof coating unit price may apply to Green Building Penthouse roofs, but that does not guarantee that GSA will be awarding those areas. This will be determined during design.

Q 146. If needed, will we be given access to the 10th Floor perimeter offices for work required above the ceilings? We understand that this work would need to take place off-hours.

R 146. Yes, but this would have to be off hours, with notification to the building management.

Q 147. Since it appears that the bio-based roof coating manufacturer will not provide a full 20 year manufacturer’s warranty, will other roof coating products which do provide full coverage be considered?

R147. See Q133 and R133.
