1.1 Scope
The Rickenbacker ANGB is located in the City of Columbus, in Franklin County and Pickaway County, Ohio. Portions of Rickenbacker ANGB were closed on September 30, 1994, and other portions were realigned as part of the 1991 and 1993 round of BRAC closures. The BRAC mandated property transfer actions at Rickenbacker ANGB were completed on June 26, 2007.
The environmental restoration program at the BRAC portion of RANGB is currently managed under CERCLA, RCRA and Ohio’s Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulation (BUSTR) program. Regulatory oversight is provided primarily by Ohio EPA and BUSTR. The United States Environmental Protection Agency Region 5 (USEPA) is currently not involved in an oversight role. RANGB is not listed on the National Priorities List (NPL).
Remedial activities are being performed in accordance with the existing decision documents. The CERCLA sites include two Ditch Sites (SD025, SD027) which may close before the end of the current PBR and three groundwater sites (Sites SS021, SS041, SS042). One site is managed under RCRA - Site (SS001), and there is one BUSTR Site - SS046. Groundwater monitoring is required at sites SS001, SS021, SS041, and SS042. Five-Year Reviews are required for all of the CERCLA sites. Land use control (LUC) compliance monitoring is conducted at all sites.
In addition to the requirements presented in this PWS, this scope includes the following:
· No additional scope.
Contractors are not responsible for the following:
