About this file
The document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Solicitation FA462525R0004, dated 18 April 2025, related to a roofing replacement project at Whiteman Air Force Base. The Q&A provides detailed clarifications about specific construction requirements for buildings B3001, B3003, B3201, B3203, B3205, and B3206. Key clarifications include: mandatory replacement of all rafters on carports per Section 2.1.2.1 of the Statement of Work (SOW), selective sheathing replacement (complete replacement on B3001 and B3003, up to 10% replacement on other buildings), full fascia replacement on B3001 and B3003, and replacement of soffit materials with like-kind materials. The document also addresses asbestos concerns, specifying that asbestos testing will be handled by the government, with test results to be distributed in a future amendment, and that asbestos abatement will be limited to soffit panels on three carports. Roofing for the carports will be shingles, not TPO low-slope roofing, as specified in Section 2.1.2.9 of the SOW.
