Q0047 Since there is pavement at the east end of B2003 and the drainage ditch at the west end, can the communications be Bored from the east side of the pavement to the approximate location of the first HH/CH?
Yes, boring from the concrete road (east of B2003) to the west side of drainage ditch (or to new HH) is allowed. However, a Dig Permit must be signed/approved prior to any digging/trenching/boring.
Q0061 For the purpose of pricing the demolition/removal of the 1000 gallon above ground diesel tank, does the Government have an estimate of how much fuel remains in the tank? Response Pending
Q0062 How many strands of fiber is required in the new Outside Plant FO Cable? 12 Strd (SM) is the base (min) standard.
Q0063 How many 4" Sch80 PVC conduits is required from the existing Comm HH 1904-2 to Bldg. 10187? 1 ea, 4" conduit with 3ea 3x3" Maxcell (type) innderducts.
Q0064 What are requirements (Qty. & size) for the Maxcell interducts wtihin the 4" comm conduit(s)? 3 ea, 3x3" w/pulling line.
Q0065 Does the existing HH 1904-2 have a splice case within it with available room for the new FO cable? If not, is their existing slack to install a new splice case?
HH 1904-2 does NOT have available fibers within this HH. The available 12 strand fibers are located in HH2017 (2HHs south of HH1904-2) within a splice case. New FO cable can be installed from HH2017, thru HH1904-3 & HH1904-2 (duct space available, would need 1 ea 3x3" Maxcell), to new conduit to B10187.
Q0066 Outside Plant Comm Note #2 states to fusion splice with pigtails in the cabinet while note #4 states to fusion splice direct connectors AND SC hot melt connectors. Please clarify.
All FO strands will be fusion spliced (no mechanical). At Bldg end, SC FO Pigtails will be spliced in splice tray within cabinet and place in 12port patch panel. No hotmelt connectors will be used on SAFB. This correction will be reflected in the "Issued for Construction" (IFC) package prior to start of construction.
Q0067 Outside Plant Comm Note #8 states ducts will be appropriately protected when placed under paved surfaces. Is this to mean a steel sleeve or what? Please clarify.
Comm conduits running under paved road/drive will be 40" below ground, IAW with base standards, and in 80 Sched conduit (vs. 40 Sched) for added protection. This will be reflected in the "Issued for Construction" (IFC) package prior to start of construction.
Q0068 Is there fire protection required on this project? I do not see any references on the drawings or statement of work. Please advise. Fire protection is not required on this project.
Q0069 Are licensed professionals from other states acceptable since this project will be performed on a government installation?
As found in Part I - Factor A - Technical Acceptability, provide qualifications on key design personnel. Include professional registrations/certifcations for mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, architecture, and fire suppression in both Texas and Oklahoma. Failure to meet a requirement may result in an unacceptable technical rating.
Q0070 The scope references an inside copper 25 pair plenum rated tie cable, is there an existing outside plant copper cable in place at this building? No, there is not an existing outside plant copper cable in place at this building.
Q0071 Due to engineering requirements, associated shop drawing review and approval and fabrication time related to the Metal Building System components, we respectfully request a 60 day extension to the 120 day performance period.
The 60 day extension to the 120 day performance period is respectfully denied.
Q0072 Regarding the delivery of the MACC, how should we access base? Would you like the base pass form filled out or just a name as with the pre-bid?
Base access for hand-delivery of MACC proposals will need to be coordinated with Ms.
Christine Basham, christine.basham.1@us.af.mil; 940-676-5184 to meet at the Visitor's Center.
This coordination will need to be timely for adequate arrangements to meet the proposal due day/time. This process will not change the due time of 1400 CST on 10 July 2018 to Building 1662, 206 J Ave, Sheppard AFB, TX 76311.
